👟 Afterschool Recreation Assistant
Sept–June | Ages 16+ | $20/hr
Help support youth afterschool programs (2–6 hours/week).

⚽ Soccer Referee
Sept–Nov | Ages 14+ | $20/hr
Officiate games, support fair play, and keep players safe (6–8 hours/week, weekends/holidays included).

The Town of Sandwich Recreation Department will be hosting a Pickleball Public Forum to discuss resident questions and concerns related to the Oak Crest Cove courts. The forum will be held on Wednesday, September 16th, from 5:00–7:00 PM at the Center for Active Living.

Players who utilize the reservation system and those who prefer an open‑play format are both welcome to attend. This forum is intended to provide clear information, gather feedback, and offer an open, respectful space for community members to share their perspectives.

🚗 SLOW DOWN - IN OUR TOWN: YARD SIGN PILOT PROGRAM

As students, families, pedestrians and cyclists return to our roads for the new school year, we’re asking everyone to help us keep Sandwich streets safe. 💙

The Town of Sandwich is launching a residential sign pilot program as part of our Slow Down - In Our Town public safety initiative. A limited number of campaign signs will be available for residents to display on private property for 30 days.

📅 Display period: August 31–September 30, 2026
📍 Pick-up: Town Manager's Office, Sandwich Municipal Office Building, 100 Route 6A
🕣 Pick-up hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
🏡 One sign per residence/property, while supplies last

Signs must be placed on private property with the property owner's permission and may not be altered or placed on Town/public property, utility poles, sidewalks or within the public right-of-way.

At the end of the 30-day period, signs and metal stakes should be returned to the Sandwich Municipal Office Building so they can be reused for future public safety campaigns.

The Town of Sandwich Recreation Department is thrilled to announce an opportunity to join our team in a newly opened FULL-TIME Program Coordinator position! If you’re energetic, creative, community‑minded, and passionate about making a positive impact, we’d love to meet you.

About the Role:
We’re looking for a dynamic individual to help us plan, develop, and run inclusive and engaging recreational programs and events for the Sandwich community. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fun and fast-paced environment, and loves bringing new ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in creating, coordinating, and implementing diverse recreational programs and events
• Research and apply new trends and best practices to enhance program quality
• Support community engagement with a friendly, high‑energy, and professional approach
• Some evening, weekend, and holiday hours required

Who We’re Looking For:
• Bachelor’s Degree in recreation, therapeutic recreation, physical education, or equivalent experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong communication and computer skills
• Creative thinker with flexibility, reliability, and the ability to connect well with people of all ages
• CPR certified and familiar with ADA requirements

Pay & Benefits:
• $30.00 per hour
• Excellent benefits package

Our college staff is heading back to school, and we’re wrapping up another beach season here in Sandwich! 💙☀️

The last day for Town of Sandwich beach staff will be Friday, August 21st.

Please note that restroom facilities will still be available after beach staff conclude for the season:
🚻 Bathrooms will remain available at Oak Crest Cove and Snake Pond.
🚻 Portable restrooms will remain available at all beach locations, with additional portable restrooms being added at Town Neck Beach.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible beach staff for all of their hard work keeping our beaches safe, clean, and welcoming throughout the summer! We appreciate you! 💙
