Developmental Programs

Pre- Team –White (2 days per week)
For young swimmers who have already participated in swim lessons and would like to explore joining the Vacationland Swim Team. The Pre-team will lasts for six weeks of small group instruction for 30 minu

tes. The focus of this group will be to introduce all aspects of competitive swimming, including all four strokes, racing dives, and competitive turns. Prerequisite: swimmers should have mastered proficient freestyle plus backstroke and are ready for the next step of learning. Level 1 Yellow Group (3 days per week)
The Yellow group is the first level of competitive swimming. This level puts the fun in the fundamentals of freestyle and backstroke by means of drills and skills. Swimmers will learn the rules to compete legally in freestyle and backstroke as well as the introduction of breaststroke and butterfly. Prerequisite: swimmers must be able to swim 2 lengths of the pool freestyle with face in rotary breathing, and backstroke to try out for this group. Developmental meets and the Candy Cane meet are encouraged. Level 1 Black Group (3 days per week)
The Black group is for experienced young swimmers with early competitive background. Emphasis will be to be competitive in freestyle & backstroke skills & drills along with gain proficiency in breaststroke & butterfly skills & drills. Swimmers will be introduced to simple training techniques. Participation in all developmental meets and the Candy Cane Meet. Placement in this group will be assigned or may be tested into. Competitive Age Group Programs

Level 2 Bronze Group (4 days per week)
The Bronze Group swimmers will emphasize proper stroke technique in the four competitive strokes and become turn proficient. The swimmers at this level will develop in basic training techniques. They will be taught how to use a pace clock in order to execute swimming sets. Daily attendance is encouraged as well as attending one meet per month. Prerequisite: Proficient in all strokes and Individual Medley ability, or tryout. Intended for swimmers between 8-12 years old. Level 3 Silver Group (5 days per week)
The Silver group is designed for the competitive swimmer moving up the age-group ladder. Competitive training will be expected but stroke technique will be emphasized. Practice and meet participation is expected with at least once a month meets and the team championship meets. Intended for swimmers between 10-14 years old. Level 4 Gold Group (5 days per week)
The Gold group is our most advanced group program. Emphasis is on preparation through high-level training and competitions. Swimmers at this level will be preparing for the highest levels of age group swimming and beyond. Commitment and self-motivation are very important. Meet attendance and practice attendance is expected with meet participation decided by the head coach. Junior High Team(5 days per week)
This group will follow the gold schedule with one and a half to two hours of early season conditioning and training decided by the head coach. Level 5 Senior Group (5 days per week)
The Senior Group is for the high school aged swimmers who want to take their talent and work skills to the next level. This group will train in all areas of competitive preparation, dedication, and commitment. An emphasis on progressive conditioning and racing refinements if offered to give swimmers an excellent opportunity to improve as a total swimmer. Meet attendance and good practice attendance is expected. Level 6 Elite Group (5+days per week)
The Elite group is for the swimmer with the necessary ability and desire to train and compete on a regional and national level. They will do and try whatever it takes to become the best they can be. Commitment to the highest-level training and competitions are emphasized. Coach interview with training ability and meet commitment is required to be in this group. Meets designated by the Head Coach and 90% attendance is expected. Group Fees: ** A copy of the swimmer’s birth certificate is required for swimmers new to USA swimming and is due at time of registration. Fee is due if not already paid in September.

Here is a throwback picture from last summer at a USA Meet where he participated in a coaches swim. The younger swimmers drew replicas of his tattoo on their legs and cheered him on like he does for them. Henry even found a straw hat to wear to really look the part. 😂.

Wish our 3 swimmers luck as they head down to The Ohio State University to compete in the 2026 Long Course Junior State Championship Meet.
Dottie qualified in the 10&under group for 100 free, 50 breast, 200 IM, 100 breast and 200 free.
Hailey qualified in the 11-12 group for 400 free, 100 free, 50 free and 100 backstroke.
Henry qualified in the 11-12 group with his 50 breast stroke.
We are proud of their achievements this swim season. 💪

Important Update: morning team practice is cancelled this morning for all levels due to the pool water level being really low. We are working on getting it fixed asap.

Evening practice and lessons are still on as of now and we will post an update if anything changes.
