Day 9 of remembering Ele: Ele was hands down the smartest cat in the house. She knew how to open the doors if she wanted to. She also loved climbing up high. I built her a custom cat tree at one point. She would spend a lot of her time in the baskets or in a box she would find. She particularly loves the ironing board.

On an exciting note I've ordered a dou and sode from Hosokawa Armory. I will be adding it to my Japanese fencing kit. My helmet works great, as do my gauntlets, and haidate. Thanks to akado armory for the swords.

In case you didn't know the Steel lotus dojo hosts a Bujinkan discord server. There we post upcoming seminars, discuss training, and even share notes. If interested send me a message and I'll provide a link after verifying you train. The goal is to create a digital hombu space where we can all share knowledge and continue our practice together.

It's been a while since I've posted. It has been a crazy Q1. We are still here and still training. Finally picked up a yari no hanzo tachi for training, and we now have a B.O.B. century target for training. The next dojo upgrade will be some mirrors that I'm repurposing. Why mirrors, so we can examine our kamae. We need to practice being profile and on the line. Practice until perfection, then practice more. Gambatte to everyone as we head in to spring.

Happy New Year everyone. If you have ever been interested in learning martial arts, or put it as a resolution, start off the new year with the Steel Lotus Dojo. We study hand to hand, sword, staff, spear, among other things. First month of training is always free, and only $40 per month after that. No obligations, no contracts, just a good time in a safe and ego free learning environment. The only competition is between the you today and the you of yesterday. Gambatte!!!
