These girls are rolling! They will be at home on Monday…come out and support them.

The WACO Softball team was back in action on Thursday afternoon in a region contest against Northeast High School. Washington County scored two runs in the bottom of the first and then put the game into mercy rule territory with a 15 run second inning. The Lady Hawks got another solid performance in the circle this time from senior Kayla Mock (3 innings pitched, 0 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts). WACO took advantage of nine Northeast errors while adding 8 hits. The offense was led by senior Madison Brown (2 for 2 with a hit by pitch, double, triple, and scored 3 runs), sophomore Madalyn Duggan (2 for 2 with a walk and two runs scored, and sophomore Emma Pool (2 for 2 with a walk, double, and driving in 2 runs.

This finished off a 4-0 week for the Lady Hawks with 3 of these wins coming in varsity play. They are now 5-1 overall and 2-0 in region play. JV and varsity will both be back in action on Monday afternoon at home.

The Lady Hawk softball team traveled to Thomas Jefferson Thursday afternoon for a softball scrimmage. The Lady Hawks competed hard and got to see some areas they need to work on, but also saw some areas where they have improved. They will get the regular season underway Saturday at Burke Co.
