This picture takes me back to my cheerleading days, pulling joy up from the depths of my soul even when it was hard to find. This summer has asked that of me more than once too. It has been a season of big highs and some real lows, and a lot of it has been spent nurturing myself and the people and animals I love most.
In June I went into a river current to rescue Mocha, and in the process I pushed my ankle past its limit. I have been living in a brace since, sometimes even sleeping in it. On October 1st, I am having my lateral ankle reconstructed, and I will be out for several weeks before teaching again in a boot for a while.
So this is me asking you to come practice with me soon, I only have these next couple of weeks left before that happens. I am sending so much positive energy to my future tendon donor, and I would love for you to send some too.
I am sitting here in joyful anticipation of this whole healing process, ready to feel strong and well again. Life keeps moving, and there is so much to celebrate along the way. Come find your joy with me on the mat.
