First flight on my Birthday present the Mohawk 11 from Flow Paragliders. Chose to take my first flight on a line I had done the day before on the R3X9 so I was familiar with the terrain and LZ.

She’s a speed machine and has more speed and dive than the R3X9 and also more float. Barrels like a charm but the kite risers make it easy to over rotate. Excited to learn this wing in the upcoming days.

One of the defining characteristics that truly sets parakites apart from traditional paraglider designs is their exceptional energy retention and the remarkable ‘float’ they deliver when flown at the upper end of their speed range.

In smooth, laminar ridge lift, flying the wing near the top of the brake range isn’t just effective—it’s optimal. Unlike conventional paragliders, which only allow a measured amount of brake input to achieve minimum sink and best glide in ridge lift, parakites perform at their peak efficiency in the same lift when the brake lines remain slack within the main riser travel. Instead, precise control is maintained solely through applying enough pressure to tension the risers in the cascading Parakite riser system, allowing for a clean aerodynamic foil and superior glide performance.
