Hello Petanquers!

The Final Emile Furlan Memorial Tournament is here. Saturday September 12th, 2026. Please share this email and flier attachment with your club members, thank you.

The tournament will be a one-day event on Saturday; however, camping at the ranch is still welcome! Instead of a dinner Saturday night there will be a long lunch with the classic BBQ Tri Tip and Simone's Famous Potatoes along with salad, sides, fruit, drinks and dessert. Lunch will be $25. In the morning there will be coffee and croissants.

The tournament style will still be a mixed triples but will be a round-robin style day of play with 4 total games and then a Final and 3rd/4th place game (no consolante). Entry fee is $30 per team. Please arrive no later than 9am!

Please fill out the attached flier and mail in for your team's registration and lunch (or additional lunches for guests). Mail in your registration no later than September 4th to Colette Evans at 10001 Kingfisher Way Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 and make checks payable to Simone Furlan. Remembering Matt Hopkins

It is with great sadness that we are sharing the news that Matt passed away on June 6th. Matt was a gentle soul with a quirky sense of humor, who loved the game of petanque and our caring community. He will be sorely missed..

Dear Petanque Family,

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to say that Carolina Jones passed away peacefully at home yesterday, May 20, 2026. Our thoughts are with her family during this difficult time.

Carolina was a long time member of Lamorinda Petanque and embodied the spirit of our club: Fun, community, good play and etiquette. In one of my last communications with her, Carolina reminded me to be sure not to put dirty glasses in with the clean glasses after our birthday parties, and to keep the shed organized! I promised to do so and assured her that she will always be very much a part of Lamorinda Petanque.

We will celebrate Carolina in due course. If you have pictures of Carolina please share them to this album! She will be greatly missed by her many friends in Lamorinda and beyond.
