The race has tightened in Mountain Division North and North Platte's Tommy Ramos had a big game at Roswell as five Pecos League games were played Monday night.

Grand Junction (13-10) moved to within 2.5 games of Mountain North co-leaders Trinidad (14-6) and Garden City (14-6-1) in the wake of their 15-2 road win over the Triggers at Central Park and a 11-7 Wind home loss to Alpine at Clint Lightner Field. Nico Sall belted a two-run homer for the Razorback Suckers and finished with four runs and four RBI to back up the four-hit pitching by starter Thomas Czyz (6 IP, 0 R, 3 H) and three relievers.

Alpine (17-9) now leads Tucson (14-11) by 2.5 games after the Saguaros fell, 5-3, in Pecos but Monday's story in the Mountain South came during a game in Roswell and was written by a Mountain North opponent. The home Invaders dropped a 21-9 decision to visiting North Platte at Joe Bauman Stadium as 80s' slugger channeled the ballpark's namesake by socking three 2-run homers between the first and fourth innings, all off Roswell starter Stephen Moraski.

Ramos has belted nine homers over his past four games and now leads both divisions with 19 homers over 23 games, seven ahead of Santa Fe's Connor Hickey. Ramos' 60 RBIs are 18 ahead of his closest competitor, Sam Ott of Dublin, who has 42. The rookie out of NAIA Montreat College (NC) ranks third among Pecos League batters with a .490 average, trailing only Hickey (.515) and Pecos' Anthony Hampton (.500).

Out west, only one game played in the Pacific Division as San Rafael traveled south to Bakersfield's Sam Lynn Ballpark, where they absorbed a 7-2 loss to the Train Robbers. Relievers Nic Mirabella got the win and closer Tristan Perry earned the save as the two righties combined to hold the potent Pacifics scoreless over the last 5.2 innings of the contest. San Rafael and Bakersfield are two games into a stretch during which they play each other five straight times: once in San Rafael, twice in Bakersfield and two more times at Albert Park in Marin County.

The Pecos League's Mountain Division North standings show a two-way tie for first place once again following Father's Day action on Sunday. It was a fairly abbreviated schedule with only five games played but a couple of important ones saw Trinidad get past Grand Junction, 7-6, while Garden City fell at home to Mountain South leaders Alpine, 6-2, to give both the Triggers and Wind 14 wins and 5 losses on the 2026 campaign.

Trinidad's Jeremiah Cabuyban had three hits, including a solo homer, and scored three runs to help the Triggers to their narrow home win over the first-year Razorback Suckers at Central Park. Meanwhile, Garden City benefitted from a solid start by Jaxon Hamada to top Alpine in their contest. Hamada tossed six innings of shutout ball on three hits against the Cowboys while singling and scoring on Peyton Lewis' three-run homer. Alpine (16-9) still holds a 1.5-game lead over Tucson in the Mountain South.

And things are a little tighter in the Pacific Division, where San Rafael now sits a half-game behind Dublin for first place. The Pacifics tripled up on Austin, 9-3, at Albert Park as Chris Blyksal singled three times and scored twice. Dublin dropped a tough 6-5 decision at Martinez, thanks in part to Josh Hardamon's single, homer and two runs batted in. Dublin now shows a 17-6-1 record, a hair's breadth ahead of 17-7 San Rafael.

Monday will see another five-game slate as Alpine and Garden City wrap up their brief two-game series at Clint Lightner Field and San Rafael travels south to Bakersfield for a game against the Train Robbers hoping to pull into a Pacific Division first place tie with idle Dublin.
