Terry is a professional BellyDancer and Instructor in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a performer, Terry enjoyed an abundant career working in some of the most prestigious nightclubs and with the finest musicians in the area. Her thousands of bookings ranged from small family gatherings to convention sized weddings! She was honored to open for some of the leaders of the Arab entertainment world, l
egends like Sabah, Warda, Shadi Sameel,Wadi el Safi, Sabah Fakri and Nouram Hanna, as well as Contemporary singers like Walid Toufic, George Wassouf and Ragheb Alame. Terry has entertained foreign dignitaries, prestigious business leaders, TV and sports celebrities. Memorable performances include performing for King Hussein and Queen Nour and other members of Arab royalty in one of the King's last trips to America before his death in 1995. Although retired from the nightclub setting, Terry still performs with her student troupe, RaksTerayz at festivals throughout the SF Bay area. As an instructor and choreographer, Terry draws upon her many years of performance experience with live Middle Eastern music as a platform for her ongoing class and workshop curriculum. Her choreographies has been adapted for local troupes for performance as well as for solo dancers for competition and auditions. She has been commissioned to create and teach Middle Eastern Dances for accredited, undergraduate dance programs. As a life long student of movement and dance, Terry
has a strong foundation in classical dance with an extensive background in many movement science and somatic disciplines. Her 30 years experience in outpatient health care settings has enabled her to bring an intimacy with the body to her teachings. Terry is CPR/ALS, CLM,PTA, CMT and ACE certified. With over 30 yrs as a student of BellyDance she continues to study Middle Eastern Dance with visiting artists and often combines her love of travel to take advantage of the opportunity to study with dance masters in the Middle East and abroad.
