Conditions Forecast
===================================
Diving conditions along the local coast have been mixed this week.
We enjoyed an excellent trip to Catalina aboard the Pacific Star last Sunday, with 50+ ft visibility throughout the day. Congratulations to our newly certified Open Water Divers who completed their certification dives on the boat! (Photo left to right: Dive Master Greg, Instructor Spencer, Madi, Sophie, Katrina, Alex, Karen, Jason, and DM student Nin.)
Visibility at Veteran’s Park in Redondo Beach was reported to be 5–10 ft last weekend. Swells remained in the 3–4 ft range for much of the week, but conditions have been improving since Wednesday. Our private Open Water class experienced much better visibility of 15–20 ft, and the surf has been gradually calming down.
There were no reports from the Laguna area this week, as swells over 4 ft were observed throughout the week.
Looking ahead, the forecast calls for sunny skies and air temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. Surf and swell conditions in the South Bay are finally beginning to improve, and we expect visibility to continue getting better throughout the week. However, swells are expected to remain elevated in the Laguna area.

Conditions Forecast
===================================
REDONDO:
The Swell forecast currently shows Redondo at 0-1 foot Surf with 15 second intervals & 1½ foot swells for Saturday (Excellent), 1-2 foot Surf with 16 second intervals combined with 2 foot swells on Sunday (VERY GOOD+). Our Wednesday Evening Night Dive forecasting 1-2 foot Surf with 18 second intervals combined with 2 ½ foot swells (VERY GOOD).
PALOS VERDES:
WEST facing Palos Verdes Beaches & Coves (Malaga, Haggerty’s, Flat Rock) all show 0-1 foot Surf with 6 second intervals & 1 foot swells for Saturday (EXCELLENT), 0-1 foot Surf with 14 second intervals & 1 ½ foot swells for Sunday (EXCELLENT). High tide in PV is around 10:00 am this weekend so you might want to hit the beach around 9:00 am for the easiest entry.
SOUTH Facing Beaches in Palos Verdes (Royal Palms, White Point, Point Fermin) show 0-1 foot surf with 13 second intervals & 1 foot swell for Saturday (EXCELLENT), 0-1 foot Surf with 16 second intervals combined with 1 ¼ foot swells for Sunday (EXCELLENT). White’s is a rocky entry – so mind your footing on the Entry & Exit and shoot for High Tide for the easiest entry / exit.
CABRILLO – A South Facing protected cove in Palos Verdes / San Pedro shows 0-1foot surf with 13 second intervals & 1 foot swells on Saturday (EXCELLENT), 0-1 foot Surf with 16 second intervals combined with 1 ¼ foot swells for Sunday (EXCELLENT). We expect VIZ to be usually “just “OK” at Best for Cabrillo.
LAGUNA:
The Swell forecast shows Beaches in Laguna at 1-3 foot Surf with 13 second intervals and 3 foot swells for Saturday (GOOD-). On Sunday we are looking at 1-3 Foot Surf with16 second intervals combined with 4 foot swells (FAIR based on swells).

WATER TEMPS/ WEATHER:
===========================
The weather forecast is calling for sunny and mid to upper 70s air temperature throughout the week. Water temperatures range from 55-61° at deeper levels, warming to 59-63° in the shallows along the South Bay coast.
If you are joining our Group for the First Time, just look for the Pacific Wilderness Beach mats when you arrive at the Beach (Pictured below). Simply come over and say “Hi” - We’ll brief you from there.
