An outstanding performance against an elite international fleet at the future Olympic sailing venue for the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games Games. Battling at the front throughout the week and consistently holding medal positions, Charlotte secured a well-earned silver medal. A fantastic result!💪⛵

The harbor has been full of national teams this week, and it’s been incredible to watch. Spain and Portugal’s 470 teams get in some hard-hitting practice ahead of the upcoming Olympic Class Regattas — full hike-out, full focus, with the LA skyline as their backdrop.

Moments like these are exactly why LAYC is proud to serve as a host club for Olympic sailing preparation. Fair winds to all the teams training in our waters! ⛵️🇪🇸🇵🇹

🍌⛵ Meet Banana Split! 💛

Our classic 1970s Hobie 16 made her way over to Catalina today complete with a dolphin es**rt! Thanks to Isaac, Peyton, and Charlie who sailed her across and beached her for our members to enjoy all summer long.

If you spot Banana Split at Howland's Landing this summer, be sure to take her out for a sail!

Four boats. Big wind. Even bigger energy.
Women on Water was everything we hoped for and then some. Rear Commodore and Skipper Sue Thotz was a standout — walking her crew through each moment as it unfolded, teaching by doing, learning by sailing. The kind of instruction that only happens when the water's real and the wind means business. We wrapped the day back at the clubhouse with a lunch that felt less like a meal and more like a reunion — even for those of us just meeting for the first time. This is what it's all about. 💙⚓ Thank you to our WOW Chair & Skipper Kelly Millar for organizing us all, and Skippers Stephanie and Lorraine!

We interrupt this gorgeous Catalina sunshine for a special bulletin from Howlands Landing:

Three brave LAYC members traded their spot on the beach for paintbrushes and bathroom doors today — because apparently sun, sand, and primer can coexist if you love your cove enough.

This has been a special report from Howlands Landing. We now return you to your regularly scheduled island paradise — freshly painted doors and all. 🏝️
