Red Thistle Dancers have been bringing Scottish culture to audiences in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond, through performances of Scottish dance & music. The group performs at festivals, outdoor events and fairs, private parties including weddings, fundraiser events, schools and other events. The Red Thistle Dancers were honored to open the Friday Nights at the De Young series at the De Young Museum, San Francisco on April 17, 2015.

This celebratory medley, titled "Decades of Dancing" was devised by Jennifer Kelly on the occasion of a milestone birthday for her husband, John Kelly. Together, Jennifer and John Kelly founded The Red Thistle Dancers and spent decades building one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s best-known Scottish dance performance groups, sharing Scottish Country and Highland Dance through performances, workshops, recordings, and teaching. The medley reflects both their lifelong dedication to Scottish dance and the joyful spirit of celebration and community that has always characterized the Red Thistle Dancers.
