d wearing river shoes. Lace up shoes or Velcro type sandals work the best. Flip flops do not work very well at all, except as paddles. Barefoot is a really bad idea. Bring plenty of sunscreen and water. Sun glasses and a hat help. It can get awfully bright on the river. Can I stop and party on the way? We encourage you to stay in your tube and enjoy the relaxing float on the SMR. Most of the land along the San Marcos River is privately owned so exiting your tube onto beach or land area can run the risk of you getting ticketed by game wardens or land owners. What do I do with my trash? Trash sacks for your cooler tubes are provided FREE on request and all of Great Gonzo’s cooler tubes come with a trash sack attached. Please help us keep the river clean and healthy by bringing trash down with you. There are receptacles at the Great Gonzo’s take out to dispose of your trash. Can I leave and come back? The wristbands are good for all day
Is camping allowed? We are day use only. Are open fires allowed? Burn Ban is in place for the county
Does Great Gonzo’s sell beer? We do not, but you are welcome to bring your own. Is there an age limit? There is no age limit to enter the property but tubers must be 18 or older unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents or adult guardians must sign a waiver for anyone under 18.
