Motivation Monday w/Coach Alicia! 🫶🏼

Just your local hot mom doing hot mom things 😜

…Like changing poopy diapers, taking care of kids, coaching clients to their hot mom selves, running two businesses and convincing my husband we need a maid.😝

Nah, but really- I’m so fu***ng proud of myself lately. I just hit 10.5 months postpartum and I’m FINALLY seeing the progress i wanted. Taking time for myself and really prioritizing what i need, like exercising, good meals and help around the house, has made such a significant difference in my happiness.

Remember, like 3 or 4 weeks ago i came on here and took you down memory lane on my IG stories and talked about how i just haven’t felt like myself since having baby #2?

It was that day i decided i can be “that” girl again. I could be the “fit mom” & the personal trainer i once was. Only this time i have MORE experience. So i put my foot on the gas and skirt skirt, 🚗 💨here we are. 😎

FOUR weeks and one mindset shift. Just have to make the decision and GO!

I was 28, overweight, never stepped foot in a gym.

When I first began my fitness journey in 2015, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I just knew that my current situation was no longer cutting it.

I was a new mom to my first baby. Part of me felt selfish for wanting to focus on myself but the other part of me just knew it would be what’s best for our family as a whole.

I spun my wheels for about 6 months just following bodybuilding.com & it worked for a while.Eventually, I realized I needed to be coached

I found a coach who was very reputable in our community and reached out. He quoted me $250 per month and my jaw dropped. We were living on a single military income, so finances were definitely tight, but I knew I needed him.

I knew convincing Corey would be a challenge, so i forced him to meet this coach w/me. By the end of the meeting, Corey was on board!

We knew we would have to budget for it, so we began selling items from around the house and we cancelled our cable. Corey actually HELPED me figure out a way to afford the coach, I was so surprised, lol.

Why did he do that for me?

He KNEW that if I took care of myself, I would look better, & if I looked better, I would feel better. If I felt better, I would be happier, & if I was happier, all would go well in our household.

That & I think he understood how much I wanted & needed this change. I did just have his baby after all.

He was willing to help me figure out a way instead of telling me, “No, we cant afford this right now.”

You know what happened after I trained for 6 months with this coach? I competed and won bodybuilding shows, became a personal trainer, Corey got out of the Military which lead to us running a multiple 6 figure online business that eventually lead to us buying a gym.

That $250 investment became something that not only made us happier, IT MADE US MONEY because it became our careers.

Sometimes, you really just need to have your partner understand your needs and come up with a plan to make it happen together. Both of you will benefit from it & truly you never know where that confidence & good health will take you!🌟

If i drink water to 11am and it’s only 9am, the over achiever in me really thrives.🤣

If you struggle with drinking water, do yourself a favor and buy a water bottle with time stamps. I bought this on Amazon and didn’t even know it had time stamps on it until i got it. Didn’t even think twice about actually using them either.

One day i looked at the clock and it was 9am but i had drank enough water to last until 11am, according to this tracker.

I felt so accomplished, like wow, a truly hydrated queen.

Isn’t that funny? How having a little piece of guidance can change everything. I usually struggle SO bad to get in my half gallon. I have several cute water bottles but i almost always end the day with water still in it.

Ever since I unknowingly implemented this tiny bit of tracking/accountability, I’ve gotten my water in every single day. Do i have my life totally together because of this thing? No. But does it make me feel like I’m making progress and headed in the right direction? Yes. Teeny tiny momentum pushes.

We don’t realize it, but having something to follow and tell us we are on track truly makes the biggest difference. It could be something as small as this water bottle or something a little more impactful like having a coach.

I’m a busy mom who is generally pretty tired and overwhelmed with taking care of everyone around me. So having something (or someone) to help keep ME on track is a game changer.

Tip # 1

Make yourself a priority: Work, family, hobbies, and other commitments can make working out seem self-indulgent, but this mentality is a trick. Getting healthy isn’t selfish; it’s a way to give back. When you have more energy and feel better about yourself, you can give more to others. Never confuse a desire to improve with selfishness.

I chose this photo because it reminds me of a time where i was genuinely training for the mental health benefits. I was struggling but knew i needed and wanted to be the mom and wife i knew i was capable of. I chose to put myself first so i could be there for everyone else who depended on me.

That, and I just love this memory with my late coach, wish he could see my pink toes. He always commented on my pedicure colors. 😂

Sometimes a bad bitch needs some no excuse juice. 😜

Juicing tip- keep your colors consistent if you want them to be pretty. If you mix greens with bright colored fruits and vegetables your juice will look like mud. Nutrition will still be there, it will just be ugly nutrition. 😂

This juice is:

Carrots
Gold beets
Red beets
Turmeric root
Red apples
Oranges (pls peel lol)
Lemon (also peel)

(portion= “lots of” dont overcomplicate it by thinking you need precise amounts of everything. Just throw it in and do a little dance while it juices.)

Juicing has really helped my overall mood, energy and I’ve noticed improvements in my skin, as well!🧡

You ever just feel stuck? Like, you don’t know exactly what you need, or where you should go, but you just KNOW it’s not where you are?

Maybe your stuck at the same old job, with the same old co workers.

Maybe your stuck in a relationship,unhappy. Knowing deep down “this ain’t it” but not knowing what else to do, so you do nothing.

Maybe you’ve been single for so long, you’ve lost hope in finding a partner to do life with. So you stay stuck in your singleness.

Maybe you’re stuck in motherhood. Your stuck in between baseball practice, nap times, doctor appointments, grocery shopping and taxi cabbing the gremlins all across town.

Maybe you’re stuck in school. Always learning but never doing anything with it. A forever student.

Maybe you’re stuck in productivity. Stuck racing the clock. Stuck writing something down JUST so you can cross it off as DONE. (Lmao it’s me)

Idk man. I could list a million ways people are stuck these days. I felt stuck the last 2 years living in CA.

Wanna know what got me unstuck?

Change of scenery.

For me- it was physically moving to another state. For you, it may look like changing careers, leaving a relationship, saying yes to that date, delegating some duties to a nanny, finally getting into the workforce or…unplugging and relaxing. Ultimately, the way to do it is the same.

Change your scenery.
