Welcome Ms. Paige to the Dance FX Family!

Paige Phillips is super excited to become a part of the Dance FX Family! Ms. Paige began her dance journey in Ohio as a young fever ambitious to try all styles. She eventually started danced competitively for seven years before moving to the competitive cheer world. After years of competitive cheerleading, she began choreographing allstar cheer routines as well as teaching gymnasts and acro classes. Ms Paige is excited to bring her competitive dance and cheer background as well as her six years of teaching to help advance dancers with the DFX Acro Program.

Welcome Ms. Koren to the Dance FX Family!

Not a stranger to the DFX Team, Ms Koren joined our staff in May for the summer session and we are thrilled that she will be teaching this upcoming season.

Koren Nagle is a native San Diegan and a 4th Generation resident of San Marcos. She started dancing at the age of 4 under the direction of Nancy Abbate Caldwell of the Mickey Mouse Club. Koren is well versed in several styles of dance including tap, ballet, jazz, and lyrical and has been choreographing and teaching dance for all ages since the age of 13. In her career she has been fortunate enough to have performed all over the United States including in Hawaii, California, New Jersey, Las Vegas, and New York. Dancing professionally for The San Diego Gulls Girls for 2 years and Fire and Ice USA for 2 years, and served as captain for 3 years. She was also afforded the opportunity to perform with Michael Jackson during his Super Bowl Halftime show in Pasadena, CA.
Koren worked as a print model for Jack-in-the-box and was on the runway for the McKids clothing line at a young age and has done several print modeling jobs both regionally and internationally. She was also involved in commercials and an independent silent film. She was a member of Elegance Modeling and Talent Agency and also a member of The Screen Actors Guild (SAG).
A graduate of San Marcos High School, Koren was a 4 year member of the varsity dance team and a captain her senior year. She also earned the title of “Miss San Marcos 2000” and proudly served the community for a year in that capacity. Along the way Koren has received 2 Bachelor of Science degrees in both Nursing and Biochemistry from University of Maryland and Cal State San Marcos. She has worked in many different capacities during her nursing career including, transplant, cardiac, and pediatric public health. She recently moved back to the San Diego area with her family and is very excited to continue her dance journey with Dance FX.

Welcome Ms. Avery Moncey to the Dance FX Family!

Avery Moncey is a San Diego native with an extensive background in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, pom, hip hop, tap and technique. She is very excited to share her years of dance and choreography experience with Dance FX.

At the young age of 3, Avery began training at San Diego Dance Centre under the direction of Kristen Hibbs. During her first years, she trained extensively in tap under Sharon Keller and began her training with Michelle Miner at the young age of 8. She also trained extensively with LynnRae Hiers, Michelle Miner, Russell Corpis, Brittany Markle and Kelly Conaway. As a company member, she helped lead her team to become national champions and won numerous awards including Dancer of the Year.

In 2016, Avery moved her training to SoCal Dance where she began her training under the direction of Lynne Ingstad. During her time at SoCal, she helped lead her team to numerous awards including winning an Industry Dance Award in tap with her small tap group.

Ms. Avery is a graduate of Poway High School where she was a four-year Varsity Dance Team member as well as varsity captain her senior year. During these 4 years she helped lead her team to multiple grand champion awards, first place awards, and second in the nation for jazz at UDA nationals during her junior year. After high school she decided to join USA dance staff and teach high school dance camps around north Southern and Northern California. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and can’t wait to work with everyone at DFX!

Welcome Mr. Elisha to the Dance FX Family! We are very excited for him to bring his knowledge and passion for ballet and dance to the team.

Elisha Nilsen trained at the California Ballet School, Contra Costa Ballet, The San Francisco Ballet School, The School of American Ballet, and the JKO School at the American Ballet Theatre. He danced professionally in the Connecticut Ballet, and the California Ballet Company. He holds certification from the American Ballet Theatre National Teachers Training Curriculum for Pre Primary Level - Level 4. He currently works full time immersed in his second passion in life as a marketing coordinator and videographer in the Automotive Industry.

We are very excited to officially welcome Ms. Mia to the Dance FX Family! Not a stranger to the DFX Team, Ms Mia joined us in May for the summer session and will be teaching in many different genres this season! She is also available for private lessons.

Mia Riley is a San Diego native with an extensive background in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, pom, hip hop, tap and technique. She is very excited to share her years of dance and choreography experience with Dance FX.

Ms. Mia began her dance training at the young age of five with Ms. Toni Russell in San Diego. In 2010, Mia began training at San Diego Dance Centre under the direction of Kristen Hibbs. During her first month, she was immediately recognized by tap icon Sharon Keller and began her tap training. She also trained extensively with LynnRae Hiers, Michelle Miner, Russell Corpis, Brittany Markle and Kelly Conaway. As a company member, she helped lead her team to become national champions and won numerous awards including Dancer of the Year.

In 2016, Mia moved her training to Danceology Performing Arts Campus under the direction of Niki Lucia. While she was at Danceology, she trained with Nick Meola, Megan McBride Moore, Tiffany King and helped lead her team to numerous awards including The Dance Awards’ Top 5 Studio of the Year as well as numerous individual awards including Contemporary Icon.

Over the years, Mia has trained with world renowned choreographers, directors and producers including: Dennis Caspary, Tina Caspary, Guy Groove, Andrew Lane, Will Loftis, Mark Meismer, Krista Miller, Mike Minery, Mandy Moore, Ade Obayami, Jason Parsons, Nayip Ramos, Twitch, Travis Wall and Andrew Winghart.

Mia is a graduate of Rancho Bernardo High School where she was a four-year Varsity Dance Team member as well as varsity captain her senior year and was twice named Dancer of the Year. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and is signed with Go 2 Talent Agency (GTA) in Los Angeles.

Brittany Markle began her dance training at the age of 3 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania learning a variety of styles including jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, and acrobatics. At 12 years old, she began her professional career performing in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular as "Clara" in the little girl lead. She continued to travel with this company and explored other opportunities modeling for costume catalogs and fashion expos, singing in regional theaters, and attending acting lessons. After graduating high school, Brittany attended college in New York City on scholarship as a biology and forensic major. While at Pace University, she furthered her dance education touring the country as the demonstrator for multiple dance conventions with the privilege of assisting world-renowned choreographers such as Mandy Moore and Andy Blankenbuehler. Eventually, she signed with Go 2 Talent agency and decided to relocate to Los Angeles. (Full bio in comments)
