Welcome to Coaches’ Corner! Today, we are spotlighting one of our Football Coaches, Coach Jones!

Experience:
- Coached Football for 13 years, last 5 years at San Marcos
- Played Football and Tennis at Murrieta Mesa High School
- Went to CSUSM and National University

Fun facts:
- Got married a year and a half ago to his best friend, wedding was officiated by Mr. Clark
- Enjoys building relationships with players and coaches. Also enjoys the strategy, preparation, and competition of coaching
- Has coached all offensive position groups, but the offensive line is his favorite
- His father in law was a football official in the Big 12 and Mountain West Conferences
- Going into his first year of coaching Varsity Girls Flag Football
- Loves his first period ASB class!!!

Favorites:
- Fast Food: In-N-Out (Double-double with grilled onions, fries, diet coke, will also get another double-double and will add just regular onion on it, likes to throw the employees off like it is for somebody else but it was really for him)
- Sports Team: Washington Commanders

Pet Peeve:
- Entitlement.

If you see Coach Jones around school, ask him what his Mcdonald’s order is!

Welcome to Coaches’ Corner! Today, we are spotlighting one of our Dance Coaches, Coach Leah Jones!

Experience:
- Coached dance for 12 years
- Danced at San Marcos High School
- Went to UC Irvine

Fun facts:
- Enjoys baking vegan goods
- Danced with an Afro Ballet Company in Riverside
- Bonnie, our ASB Director and Cheer Coach, is her mother
- Recently was just married
- Enjoys watching the students get it or when it clicks for people

Favorites:
- Fast Food: Cava
- Sports Team: Doesn’t really have one but enjoys watching dance nationals

Pet Peeve:
- Lack of organization

Welcome to Coaches’ Corner! Today, we are spotlighting one of our Football Coaches, Coach Bechtel!

Experience:
- Coached football for 29 years
- Played football and baseball at Damien High School
- Played football at USD

Fun facts:
- Enjoys competition and getting athletes ready to compete at a high level
- His son Eli played football at SMHS, currently plays at West Point
- He is an avid surfer and currently teaching his grandaughter

Favorites:
- Fast Food: In-N-Out (Number 1, animal style, no tomatoes, pink lemonade)
- NFL Team: San Francisco 49ers “BANG BANG NINER GANG!”

Pet Peeve:
- Laziness. He doesn’t like it when guys don’t put in full effort.

Welcome to Coaches’ Corner! Today, we are spotlighting our Head Field Hockey Coach, Coach Heidi!

Experience:
- Coached Field Hockey for 15 years at SMHS, 22 years total
- Played Field Hockey at Fallbrook High School
- Went to Western Governors University

Fun facts:
- Still plays Field Hockey to this day
- Runs our Future Center Coordinator at SMHS
- Enjoys watching the girls grow up on and off the field
- She has a son who attends SMHS

Favorites:
- Fast Food: In-N-Out (Number 2, protein style, animal style)
- Favorite Sports Team: Golden Knights Hockey

Pet Peeve:
- When players aren’t listening and has to repeat herself multiple times
