There is nothing wrong with transitioning from personal training to training athletes

BUT, training athletes is nothing like training general pop

Most general pop training is focussed around mechanical tension and muscle growth, not actually working on the mechanisms that create strength, power and speed

High reps, low rest periods and technically hard exercises are not going to benefit your athlete in most cases

So if you recognize some of this in your current training/ coaching, find a new coach!

We see a lot of programs athletes send us to look at and evaluate.

Some maybe good some maybe not so good.

But when we see these 3 things in their program we can rest assured they are going to be making progress.

Plyometrics: take care of power development, elastic strength, ankle strength & stiffness, coordination, and much more and contrary to some extremely safe when implemented correctly.

Resisted sprints: these are the king 👑 exercises for developing speed in 99% of athletes. They help improve horizontal force production, correct drive phase sprint tech, power, and acceleration.

Progressive Overload: if you are not using this principle in your training you are close to wasting your time if you care about long term progress.
