SLOCO Junior Roller Derby is a non-profit charity sports league for children between the ages of 5 and 17 in San Luis Obispo County of California. SLOCO provides a safe and positive environment for junior skaters to learn about and compete in the sport of roller derby, while also learning to be strong leaders and helpful members of our community. We accept and openly welcome all children regardles
s of background, gender identity, sexuality, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. We believe that there is a place for everyone within the roller derby community. SLOCO was founded in 2013 by Erin "Daizy CutHer" Lawrence, making it the first Junior Roller Derby league on the Central Coast. Daizy CutHer sacrificed her own derby career in the hopes of establishing a fun and positive learning experience for all participants in the junior league. She more than succeeded in her efforts as the league has nearly doubled in size and has become a safe-haven for many children in our community. Through the encouragement and comraderie of roller derby, we can shape and empower our children into the strong adults they will one day become.
