SLO Wanders focuses on nature connection programs by fostering curiosity and passion for the natural world. Participants are drawn into a deeper connection to the land through exploration of the many open spaces/trails in San Luis Obispo county and through the practice of many naturalist and wilderness skills: ancestral (primitive) skills, wilderness survival skills, animal tracking, herbal medicine and edible plant uses, field guide use, knife safety, and many more.

This is a female Northern Flicker, a type of woodpecker. She was brought to us from Atascadero and is recovering from spinal trauma. Flickers are beautiful birds that show bright red feathers under their wings and tails when in flight. They are often seen on the ground enjoying their favorite diet of ants and bugs. Male Northern Flickers have red moustaches and a black chest crescent and, like other woodpeckers, they make loud, frequent calls and drum sounds.

Hello Inspire families. I want to take a moment to introduce myself now that I am an active vendor for Inspire. My name is Evan Albright and I am a local naturalist running nature connection programs in SLO county. The interview below touches on what I do and why. I have two spaces available in my Friday program that meets weekly, 9a.m.-3p.m. and one space available for Fridays that meets every-other week. Ages 10 yrs and up.
I am also available to start a new program on Tuesdays, if there is enough interest. You can message me for more details. I'm looking forward to meeting new families. Thanks.

WHO IS THIS?
Here is an easy track to identify. Remember to look at the overall size, the number of toes, and if there are claws present. I wish I had some plaster on this day. Perfect track!
