Annual Demonstration and Potluck party (last practice of the year): December 21th (Sat)
- Come to Dojo by 4:30 p.m. for setting-up (for both adults & children)
- Demonstration starts from 5:00 p.m.
- Potluck party starts between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. (the schedule can change depending on # of participants in demonstration)

- Please fill out your dish to bring to the potluck party on the sign-up sheet during practice hours between 11/16 (Sat) and 12/14 (Sat).
CY2020 1st Practice (for adults): January 8th (Wed) 7:15 p.m.

CY2020 1st Practice (for children): January 11th (Sat) 4:50 p.m.

CY2020 New Year's Party (for adults): January 18th (Sat) after practice (the detail to be announced later)

Silicon Valley Branch is closed on the following dates due to Shorinji Kempo Unity Study Session held in Monterey, CA and Independence Day Holiday.
June 29th (Sat), July 3rd (Wed) and July 6th (Sat)

In the month of July and August, children's class is merged with Adult class as follows:
Saturdays (excluding July 6th): from 5:50 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. (Children)
Adult class schedule remains the same: (Wed) 7:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Sat) 5:50 p.m. - 7:50 p.m.

“So Doshin Day” started in 1995 as anniversary of death of Shorinji Kempo Founder, “Doshin So” to enforce his phrase of "Half for one's own happiness, and half for the happiness of others," ("nakaba wa jiko no shiawase wo, nakabaha hito no shiawase wo") through charities. Currently, May is the month of So-Doshin Day and each branch picks one day in May to give students opportunity to contribute to the peace of the society through charities.

At Silicon Valley Branch, we will hold Charity BBQ Party as 2019 So Doshin Day activity as well as last year.

Date, time: May 4th (Sat) 6:00 p.m. ~ (right after joint practice of Adults and Children from 4:50 - 5:50 p.m.)
Both adults and children need to be at
Dojo by 4:30 p.m. to start the practice
on time

Place: Lawn area next to Dojo

Participation Fee:
Adult with alcohol (beer): $25 per person
Adult (13 years and above) w/o alcohol:
$20 per person
Child (12 and under): $15
Under 4: free

Menu: (each participant with pre-payment can get all of the items shown below)
Chicken
Beef (bulgogi or kalbi)
Corn
Onigiri
Salad/veggies

Profit from the event is donated to UNICEF as usual.

Please sign it up by making the payment at Dojo after practice by April 27th (Sat).

Just in case you did not receive the email from Hisamura-san pertaining to Kaiso-Day, here is the message below.

At Silicon Valley Branch, we are planning to hold Charity BBQ as 2018 So Doshin Day activity.

We would like your participation in the charity activity on the following.

Purchase the BBQ Tickets at Dojo prior to the event
Setting up of the event (5:30 p.m. ~) and clean-up after the event (8:30 p.m. ~)
Both adults and children need to be at Dojo by 4:30 p.m. on the day.

Profit from the event is donated to UNICEF as usual.

BBQ ticket sale will be done at Dojo during practice hours on May 5th (Sat), May 9th (Wed), May 12th (Sat) and May 16th (Wed).
We accept cash only on event day.

I will send another email about menu of the charity BBQ and the price of each goods later by this weekend.
