September 4 commemorates the day in 1994 when the IOC officially recognized Taekwondo as an Olympic sport, paving the way for its Olympic debut at Sydney 2000.

From staying in a traditional hanok and wearing hanbok to exploring the UNESCO World Heritage treasures of Bulguksa, Seokguram, and Cheomseongdae, every moment in Gyeongju brought Korea’s rich history and culture to life.

Ten years ago, in 2016, we attended our first International Academy at Chosun University. 🇰🇷

What started as an elite Taekwondo training experience has grown into a program that embraces every aspect of our martial art—from sparring and Poomsae to self-defense, demonstration, culture, and even K-pop.

Led by Chosun University’s Taekwondo professors and supported by dedicated students majoring in Taekwondo, this is more than a training camp. It’s an opportunity to learn, grow, build lifelong friendships, and experience the heart of Taekwondo where it all began.

A decade later, it continues to be an experience we’ll never forget—and one we look forward to sharing for years to come.

We’re proud of our family and everything our athletes accomplished, including the following:

Thank you to our athletes, coaches, parents, and friends for making this journey so special. These performances represent hard work, but the character, friendships, and memories we’ve built together mean even more.

While many are celebrating at home, our Hung Vuong Institute Competition Team is proudly representing our community at the 2026 USA Taekwondo National Championships.

Months of training, discipline, and dedication have led us here. We’re grateful for the opportunity to compete, grow, and share the mat with athletes from across the country.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Independence Day! Now it’s time to do what we came here to do. 💪🥋

Our 2026 Hung Vuong Picnic was filled with tradition, achievement, and laughter—from outdoor training and celebrating our new Black Belts, to recognizing our Color Belt promotions, sharing a delicious potluck, and enjoying fun activities together.

Days like these remind us that Hung Vuong is more than a martial arts school—it’s a family. Thank you to all of our students, staff, and parents. for making this day so special.

Congratulations to everyone who reached a new milestone, and thank you for continuing to grow with us both on and off the mat.
