Congratulations to our Member of the Month, Wes T.! ๐ Wes first joined BARC at one of our trail runs last year and has been a regular part of the group ever since. Whether itโs a Thursday night run or a day on the trails, heโs become a familiar sight week after week, introducing himself to new members, bringing a social energy to post-run hangs, and encouraging others. Heโs also made amazing strides in speed, and the improvement has been impossible to miss! Weโre happy to have him as part of the Crew as he conquers his running goals!
1. What is your favorite part about being a member of the Bay Area Run Crew?
Itโs cliche but the people are awesome. Everyone is willing to joke, give advice, and invite you to other events that are going on. The leadership team also keeps things fresh even if I always forget to participate in the themes.
2. What is your biggest running accomplishment, and why is it important to you?
Iโve yet to do organized run that was larger than a 5k but I am going to start training for my first half marathon soon. This is my first time joining a running club, running has always been a part of my job or something I did for fun solo so it would be great to see how fast and how far I can actually run for organized races.ย ย
3. What are some of your future running goals?
Iโd like to complete 1 ultra run just to have the achievement
4. What tips would you like to share with the rest of the Crew? I recently learned that cardio comes back faster than muscle and bone strength when you get back into running so make sure you go at a moderate pace with plenty of recovery to prevent injury.
