Here's a question we think every parent should ask before choosing an activity for their child:
“Who will my child become around?”
Not just:
“What will they learn?”
Look around the room.
Who are they watching?
Listen to how the adults speak when a child makes a mistake.
What does encouragement sound like?
What does correction sound like?
How does the room feel when someone struggles?
Are children allowed to learn?
Are they expected to grow?
Do older students help younger students?
Are standards real?
Does kindness matter?
Because your child isn't simply learning the activity.
They're absorbing the environment.
That's something we take very seriously at Warrior Code.
We're certainly not perfect.
We're human beings working with human beings.
But we're committed to something.
Kindness. Integrity. Courage. Community. Development.
We're committed to seeing people.
To teaching them.
To expecting something from them.
To helping them grow physically, mentally and emotionally—one class at a time.
That's our mission.
So if you're looking for something for your child, don't simply ask:
“Would they like martial arts?”
Ask:
“Would I like the person this environment could help them become?”
Then come see us.
Watch a class.
Listen to how we teach.
Feel the room.
Talk to our families.
Evaluate us.
Because you should.
And if what you see aligns with what you want for your child...
We'd be honoured to help them begin.
