As a mother, you may encounter moments of 𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙛𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙜𝙪𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. 🫥

As an entrepreneur or business owner, you often face feelings of 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨, 𝙚𝙭𝙝𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩. 😮‍💨

Now, imagine being both a dedicated 𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 and a driven 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙪𝙧. 😲 There might be moments when you just feel 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝘆 from giving tirelessly whether to your family or your business.

Your commitment to your goals remains steadfast, and occasionally, you must make difficult decisions, trading leisure and social opportunities for your pursuits. But these are choices you willingly embraced as a mom entrepreneur.

However, making connections and having fun are crucial ingredients for the path to success.

I had a chance to celebrate my birthday at a painting party with some of my dear friends. The theme of the night is fireflies.

🧠 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

𝗬𝗲𝘀, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁!

The first image was from when I was burnt out and dealing with tinnitus, insomnia, racing thoughts, and anxiety. 🤯

The second image was taken after several weeks of brain training and self-care. It reflects how much more calm I felt after regulating my brainwaves. 😌 (𝗡𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘀, 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘅𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆.)

As a neurofeedback practitioner, I help people upgrade their hardware by training their 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀; and as a certified hypnotherapist, I help people upgrade their software by training their 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀.

During my experience with burnout, I discovered the significance of '𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩.' By making constant, subtle adjustments, I aligned my brainwaves, mind, body, and thoughts, which ultimately led to the alignment of my entire life.

Later, I applied the same concept to my business. By aligning my business with my vision, values, and purpose, I found that the 'brainwaves' of my business became calmer, more regulated, and healthier.

We can think of ourselves and our identities in the same way.

🤓The blue and green backgrounds symbolize the unique lenses through which we perceive both ourselves and the world. 🌎
These lenses are molded by our upbringing, experiences, cultural influences, societal norms, etc...

🌟𝗔𝘀 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗳𝘀
Often we forget we’re looking at ourselves and our world through the tint of our particular lenses.

We need to learn how to take off these metaphorical lenses and see ourselves with the naked eye.

𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙏𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙙𝙖𝙮 🕑✈

I'm excited to share why I'm so passionate about helping moms build 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥, 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭 businesses. 🤩

Let me take you back to where it all began — 20 years ago, in Taiwan, with my first "official" business: a facility that provided after-school care and tutoring for elementary students.

One of our first customers was a dad in his 60s with a timid, precious 6-year-old son, who spent the whole time hiding behind his dad. The little boy was about to start first grade, and the dad was searching for an after-school program. Though the dad walked with a limp and was wearing a dirty, sweaty tank top, he spoke with perfect manners and great kindness. 👨‍👦

After showing him around our school, he decided to enroll his son. To pay for the tuition, he pulled out crumpled-up bills and change from his pockets, money he had earned selling green onion cakes for one dollar each from his food cart. Witnessing this pure devotion for his son, I felt a profound 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲. 🫡💙💗

Looking back, I realized my school embodied all three of these principles:
⭐️ It had a 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 because it was born out of my intention to pay back my parents for the money they spent to send me to America for school and give them a better life.
⭐️ It had an 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭, because I could see the joy and learning it gave to the children and their families.
⭐️ And as our enrollment grew all the way to hundreds of students, there was certainly an 𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞.

Since then, I’ve started several other businesses, and along the way. I discovered that for a business to truly thrive, it must have all three. 𝐀 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞.

Similarly, 𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐭. 😩

𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐠𝐨? 🤔

Not long ago, my 6-year-old son was sitting beside me doing his homework when he noticed something on my laptop that caught his attention. He read out loud the title of a book that popped up in my Facebook feed: "𝐄𝐠𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐲." Intrigued, he turned to me and asked, "𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐠𝐨?"

What a deep question! 𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐠𝐨?

It made me reflect on my own experiences with ego. Over the past few years, I have had to confront my ego in a profound way. Until recently, the main focus of my career was on my mental health clinic, Brain Mind Wellness.

The mission at Brain Mind Wellness was to help people 𝑭𝑬𝑬𝑳 𝑩𝑬𝑻𝑻𝑬𝑹 ❤️‍🩹 and 𝑩𝑬 𝑩𝑬𝑻𝑻𝑬𝑹 💪.

Our practice was doing great, and we were helping a lot of people feel better mentally and physically.

However, as time went on, I realized I was particularly interested in the part about helping people "𝑩𝑬"𝑩𝑬𝑻𝑻𝑬𝑹 This led me to start another company called 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬, where I would focus on this dimension of 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬. 💯

At first, I attempted to manage both ventures simultaneously, but I quickly realized I was spreading myself too thin and I was burnout. It was a difficult decision, but I chose to sell the clinic and go all in on the world of coaching.

Embarking on this new path required me to 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐞𝐠𝐨 𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐬, 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟𝐬, 𝐚𝐜𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲. 💕

The biggest lesson that I learned is that we have to be brutally honest and confront our ego in order to grow… because 𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒈𝒐 𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒑 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒋𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆. ⛔️

As I looked at my 6-year-old son, I wondered what life would teach him about ego. For now, I explained to him that ego is the way we think about ourselves, and just like in the story of Goldilocks, balance is key. If our ego is too small, we lack belief in ourselves. If it's too big, we become overly prideful. Striking the right balance is crucial to being our best selves. ⚖️

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐬

As a mom of five children, I’ve always taken immense pride in driving a minivan. It’s a symbol of the wonderful chaos and adventure that comes from having a big family. 🏠

Over the past 18 years, the four different minivans that I’ve driven have been my trusty companions. They’ve carried my precious cargo to school, sports practices, and family outings. Being a mom who drives a minivan is a badge of honor, and it’s always represented my dedication and love for my kids. 💕

When my oldest three kids left for college, I realized that with two kids still at home, we didn’t need an entire minivan. It was time to find a new car.

As I began my search, I had two criteria in mind: I wanted an electric car, and I wanted it to have room for seven people. At the time, the only option on the market was the Tesla Model X.

As sweet and supportive as my husband is, I set a personal goal to purchase the car using my own earnings. I placed a $250 deposit on the Tesla website, due to supply chain shortages, it took almost 12 months before the car was ready for delivery. During that time, I was able to grow my business and save up the funds. I successfully achieved my goal and bought the car using the money I had earned myself. 💪

𝐈 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫 "𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐬."

However, there was a sense of discomfort that I just couldn’t shake. I kept Boss in the garage for two months and hardly drove it. 🙄 I didn’t expect to feel this way about my new car, so I spent some time investigating where these emotions might be coming from.
At heart, I am a simple and private person. Growing up in a blue-collar family, I learned to value hard work, perseverance, and appreciate life's simple pleasures. The discomfort I felt came from the sudden shift to owning such a flashy car — I mean, it’s a car with wings after all! 😅 It took me several months to adjust and feel at ease behind the wheel of my new car. It was during this period that I realized the source of my unease: 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐮𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐦 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.

The most valuable lesson I took away from this experience is that while material possessions don't define who we are, 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬.🤯

It's crucial to be aware of the influence our subconscious mind can have on our lives, 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐞, 𝐰𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐮𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐬, 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬, 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬. 💕𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧’𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 💕

For the past few days, we experienced the hustle and bustle of Pike Place Market, visited the iconic landmark of Seattle - the Space Needle, climbed majestic Mt. Rainier, looked at lush green plants everywhere we turned. We also absorbed the warm sun, smelled refreshing rain and even played in snow on the same day. From where we stayed, we got to look out to see a beautiful beach and colorful sunsets everyday.

Getting my 5 growing kids together is not always easy, but when we do, we cherish every moment of it. 💗

I am a dreamer, a doer, and an entrepreneur. These have been key parts of my identity as far back as I can remember.
When I was 5 years old, my family had a food truck that sold bento boxes, and I was in charge of selling cans of soda and bottles of water. One day, when our truck was stationed at a construction site, I handed a worker a bottle of water, and since he was out working under the hot sun, he was particularly grateful for the ice-cold relief. He handed me a coin as a token of his appreciation, and from that moment on ... I was hooked.

I’ve built and sold several businesses over the course of my career, and during that same time period, I’ve built a family, too. I have often found myself juggling my businesses and my family, which can bring up feelings of guilt. When I’m focusing on my business, I feel like I’m neglecting my family… but when I’m focusing on my family, sometimes I feel like I’m neglecting my business. 😫 It’s common for entrepreneur moms to experience challenges as they seek a healthy work-life balance. Many entrepreneur moms neglect their own well-being as they prioritize their business and their family. This can lead to burnout or exhaustion, which makes it even more difficult to maintain productivity and motivation.
Yet, amidst these challenges, I've witnessed the incredible strength and resilience of moms, especially entrepreneur moms. We possess a unique work ethic, unparalleled multitasking skills, and an unwavering sense of purpose in our endeavors. It's this deep understanding of the journey that has shaped my perspective and inspired me to help fellow entrepreneur moms thrive.
Over the years, I've come to realize and strongly believe that 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞.
