🤍the conversation no one wants to have:
Yes, sometimes an athlete would benefit from losing weight.

But that does NOT mean she needs to go on a diet.

Instead of cutting calories or obsessing over the scale, look at the fundamentals:

• Is she eating enough protein?
• Is she fueling before and after training?
• Is she sleeping enough?
• Is she hydrated?
• Is she lifting appropriately?
• Is she eating mostly whole, nutrient-dense foods?
• Is stress being managed?

When those health principles improve, MOST OF THE TIME, body composition often follows naturally.

More importantly, teenage athletes do NOT NEED TO BE chasing an unrealistic aesthetic.

They have the rest of their lives to make choices about changing their bodies. Right now, they deserve to build a healthy relationship with food, training, and themselves.

As coaches and parents, our job isn’t to create the smallest athlete. It’s to help build the healthiest, strongest, most confident one.
