What a way to close out an unforgettable high school career.
Congratulations to Daniela Hughes, now the most decorated MVP athlete in program history.
At the 2026 USATF Junior Olympics, Dani earned:
🥈 2nd Place – 100m Hurdles
🥈 2nd Place – High Jump
🥉 3rd Place – Triple Jump
Her senior season was nothing short of legendary:
- 60 first-place finishes across 10 different events
- Undefeated high school triple jump season
- Three CIF State medals
- Three USATF Junior Olympic medals, earning All-American honors in all three events
Dani has been with MVP since our very first year. In many ways, we’ve grown together. As she developed into one of the nation’s top athletes and an incredible young woman, MVP was growing right alongside her. Every practice, every setback, every breakthrough, and every victory became part of both her story and ours. Watching her mature as an athlete, teammate, leader, and person has been one of the greatest privileges of our journey as coaches.
While her accomplishments speak for themselves, it’s her character, leadership, and relentless drive that have left the greatest impact on our program.
As she begins the next chapter of her journey at UC Berkeley, we couldn’t be more proud. It’s bittersweet to see her high school career come to an end, but we’re excited to watch her continue chasing greatness at the collegiate level.
Dani, thank you for trusting us with your journey. Thank you for the memories, the laughs, the hard work, and for helping build the foundation of what MVP has become. You’ll always be family, and we’ll be cheering for you every step of the way.
