Meet the clubs!
The SF Glens

Founded in 1961 by Dr. Michael McFadden, the San Francisco Glens have been a mainstay of the San Francisco soccer landscape for over six decades, winning two titles in the San Francisco Soccer Football League (SFSFL) and advancing to the finals in the National Amateur Cup in 1979 and 1990. With over 100 total teams and 1,200 youth and adult players, the San Francisco Glens are the largest and most diverse soccer club in the city.

Why did you join the SFSFL?
The club joined the SFSFL because of the commitment, from our founding, to play soccer in San Francisco and be active within the city. As a community-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization today, the club continues to prioritize local soccer as it celebrates its 65th anniversary.

When did you join SFSFL?
The Glens joined the SFSFL shortly after our founding in 1961.
What makes SFSFL different compared to other leagues?
The passion, commitment, and community feel in the SFSFL is unmatched. The ability to represent our club and history - in a league that has teams from all over our amazing city - makes the SFSFL unique and special to participate in. Playing in this league not only honors the traditions and values of the Glens, it allows our teams to compete for each other with an immense feeling of community pride.

What are your club colors?
Our club colors are green, white, black and cream.

What does your logo symbolize?
The shamrock on the logo pays homage to our founding by Irish immigrants and our long connection with the Irish community in the Sunset District and San Francisco as a whole.

Oakland Soccer Club

Oakland Soccer Club (OSC) has been putting youth from our most undeserved communities on fields throughout Oakland since 1974. OSC was originally founded as a community program in 1974 and, over the decades, has served numerous generations of players positively by providing access and inclusion to sport. OSC, along with its community, has endured through challenges that have often faced Oakland, and through that history have remained steadfast in its service to the youth and the families of our town. Oakland Soccer Club provides affordable, high-quality soccer training and competitive opportunities for undeserved youth in Oakland to develop skills for soccer, school, and life.

Why did you join the SFSFL?
To provide opportunites for promising youth players to elevate their game. And to provide opportunities to be part of the club after they age out of the youth program.

What year did you join the SFSFL?
2013

What makes the SFSFL different from other soccer leagues?
Promotion and relegation, and they organize all the field rentals and referee assignments. Also, the long-standing legacy that pre dates FIFA.

What are your club colors?
Aqua- a unique color for a unique club.

What is in your logo, and does it symbolize something?
The tree icon is overdone for Oakland organizations and businesses. We use the ACORN in our logo to tell our story of player development and growth from 5 years old to adulthood. From seedling into a mighty oak.

Norcal Shockwaves

Mr. Jang founded the club 2022. We were just a recreational club from 2014 to 2022 by selecting players from Marin Area. We participated in many tournaments such as Alianza tournament in California. And Coach Martin from Oakland stompers recommended us to become Semi pro in 2022. We had a friendly game and we ended up beating them and Coach Martin was impressed by our performance and end up calling captain Joo to convince him to join NSL and after careful discussions and thoughtful process, we decided to join NSL. We made to quarterfinal in our first year. And then Vice president of SFSFL met captain Joo and approached him and asked him to join SFSFL. I guess Carlos knew about shockwaves.
After another careful thought process we decide to join SFSFL because this league was perfect league for us to be develop to become MLS team in the future. We are going to participate in US open cup this new year and we will try to win for SFSFL like Brazil have 5 stars and SFSFL will have 5 US open cups.

We joined in the 2025-2026

What makes the SFSFL different from other leagues?
Not much traveling, and we don't have to provide a home stadiu. In other leagues you have to travel long distance for away games.

What are your club colors?
Blue and white

What does your logo represent?
It symbolizes northern California and earthquakes

Club Atlético de San Francisco

Club Atlètico de San Francisco was established in 2022 after nearly a year of planning the business structure. Combining a sporting club, athletic clothing, and technology into the business model.

Why did you join the SFSFL?
Joined the SFSFL for the level of competition and strong football community.

We joined the league in 2023.

What makes the SFSFL different from other leagues is the level of competition, along with having different divisions with promotion/relegation structure.

What are your club colors?
Blue, white, and gold

What does your logo represent?
The golden gate bridge symbolizes SF while the bear represents our state of California.

Club Tepa

Club Tepa has been a staple in the Bay Area soccer community since the 1990s. Founded through the support and vision of “Don Leo,” owner of Carnicería Tepa in South San Francisco, the club has long provided opportunities for kids, young adults, and adults to play and grow through the game. While the team has carried different names over the years, this current iteration proudly stands on the foundation built by those who came before us.

Today, Club Tepa continues that legacy by creating opportunities for local athletes to compete at a high level, driven by a commitment to community, development, and passion for the game.

Why SFSFL?

We joined the SFSFL because we believe it is the right next step in our growth as a club, both on and off the field. It gives us the opportunity to strengthen our community while being part of a league with a rich history and strong level of competition.

Year joined: 2024-25 season.

What makes SFSFL different?
The SFSFL stands out because it gives every team and club an opportunity to compete, regardless of their background or history. It’s one of the few leagues where teams from completely different paths come together and share the field week after week.

Our logo is a reflection of our identity, roots, and the community that built us.

It carries strong Mexican influence, honoring the culture and traditions that are at the heart of Club Tepa, while also representing our openness to players from all backgrounds who share the same passion for the game.

At the center, the cow serves as a tribute to Don Leo and Carnicería Tepa, the place where so much of our story began. More than just a symbol, it represents hard work, sacrifice, and community. For many of us, it’s a reminder of where we come from and the responsibility we carry to continue building something meaningful for the next generation.

Valencia Street Rovers

Founded in 2024, the Valencia Street Rovers origins hail from a variety of different places, depending on who you ask.

Most of the squad are from the city, not only growing together in the same SF Celtic youth squad, but as well as their own high school teams sprinkled across the city.

Then, adulthood came calling, and we all split for a bit. Luckily, we all found ourselves trickling back into the city – working jobs as teachers, as bartenders and servers, as firefighters, as petty bureaucrats –yet always finding time to come together for 7 v 7 pickup under the weeknight lights at Mission Playground off Valencia St, our namesake.

It is here, at the playground, where the idea for the club was sparked.

A majority of us were already playing in the SFSFL for an array of Premier & Majors Divisions clubs, why not all eventually come together? Under one name, one crest.

Why did you join the SFSFL?
- Most of us had been playing in this league for years and loved playing every sunday in a competitive league in our own backyard

- The quality of football is high, and it is fun to see all the teams playing at Crocker and Beach Chalet every Sunday. It creates a community feel.

- Our friend Andrew Ross at Fuji Market designed our badge and home kit. We collaborated on a lot of stuff we liked in the football world and gave him the freedom to cook something up.

Berenice SC

Founded in 1999, Berenice SC is one of the longest-standing clubs in the SFSFL. The club was built with the union of two groups of footballers, a team called The Dukes and a group of mostly Irish hoofers with an appetite for footie and no formal name. With all the obvious football names already taken, the founders opened a dictionary of classical history, and somewhere near the bottom of the list, Berenice stuck.

Why did you join the SFSFL?
To compete at a high level in one the country’s most historic leagues.

What makes SFSFL different from other soccer leagues?
A rare mix of strong competition, history, and community.

Black, yellow, and red.

What is in your logo, and does it symbolize something?
The Golden Gate Bridge alongside BSC letters, representing the club’s roots in San Francisco and its long-standing place in the local football scene.

Club Deportivo San Nicolas

Club Deportivo San Nicolas, a Bay Area team with roots in San Francisco, CA, traces its origins to San Nicolas de Ibarra, Jalisco. Revitalized in 2022 by David Venegas, the club initiated youth and men’s programs in its hometown. Juan Venegas and Eric Cabrera spearheaded the team’s reintroduction to the Bay Area, supported by SF Fog and the SFSFL. The club’s logo, featuring a bull and banner, reflects its heritage and the spirit of el Pueblo. In 2023, Club Deportivo San Nicolas began competing in the SFSFL once again.
Why SFSFL: we wanted to join a quality league and continue to be apart of a league our families were once apart of.
What makes SFSFL different: it’s the longest running league in the nation. There’s so much history behind the league; plus great futbolers that have once played or currently still play in the league.
