Battle Of The Bay September 26th 2026 ! The largest NorCal SUP, Prone, Surfski & OC1 race returns to Sausalito California

Bluerush is proud to host the 10th Annual (minus some Covid years) Battle of the Bay, the largest event and expo of it’s kind in Northern California’s, San Francisco Bay Area. Stand Up Paddle boarders, Prone Paddlers, Surfski and OC1 watercrafts are all invited to take part in this monumental event. Races will include short courses, distance, a kids course and relays. There will be an award ceremo

ny each day with medals for 1st-3rd places in all races with two divisions- Elite and Open. Open racers will find this race exhilarating and challenging. On the beach spectators can check out the latest merchandise and equipment from many of this years Sponsors.

Why is it called "Battle" of the Bay? Well sometimes the Bay is like this - a battle. This legendary photo by Peter Spain shows Mark Athanicio (John Alexiou completed this too he's just not in the photo!) just after rounding the mark at the top of the course in the 2014 race. John is just under the Golden Gate Bridge in this amazing shot - that's not surf - It's just the San Francisco Bay doing San Francisco Bay things. Note we have always have a protected short course for those who don't need to do "Battle"!
