The 11-week training program is perfect for beginner runners, advanced runners, and everyone in between. Throughout the program, participants also receive support to reach an individual $600 fundraising goal. The season culminates in running the San Francisco Rock and Roll Half Marathon on Sunday, March 26.
Every You Can Run participant will receive weekly training plans, organized group runs, a
nd fundraising support. Group team practices will consist of coached speed and strength workouts on Monday evenings and Wednesday mornings, along with weekly long runs on Sunday mornings. The training plan will also include workouts hosted by guest coaches from popular San Francisco gyms and studios. While we encourage runners to attend as many practices as possible, they are not mandatory. As part of the You Can Run team, we'll provide you with all the virtual plans, tips, and motivation you need to reach your fundraising and running goals. Our kick-off run is on Sunday, January 8th at A Runner's Mind from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. The kickoff is a great way for you to meet other participants and to learn more about the training program, fundraising commitment, and Girls on the Run's mission. We'll do a four-mile run followed by refreshments. A Runner's Mind staff will also be performing gait analyses for anyone interested in learning which shoes best fit your unique stride. The shop will be donating a portion of the sales to You Can Run's fundraising goal.
