After months of being booked up weeks in advance we are glad to announce our turn around times for bike repair are back to normal! Right now is the best time to book a service with us!

We are excited to announce a new service by CIVIC+Sprocket!

MOBILE SKI SERVICE, REPAIR & DEMO

Since youth most of the C+S crew has had a mirrored interest and love for snow sports. Drawing on the years of past ski technician experience we have taken on some ski and snowboard service+repair as side jobs to help our clients. The availability of these slots were extremely limited due to lack of suitable space, limited staff and expensive machinery+tooling.

THIS NEW SERVICE WILL BE UTILIZING OUR MOBILE UNIT TO PROVIDE SERVICE MOBILE / ON SITE (basic services) OR PICKUP / DROP OFF (more advanced services)

We will have packages and individual services covering all ski repair and maintenance including but not limited to:

-WAXING (infrared hand wax, DPS Phantom application)
-EDGE TUNING (by hand and Wintersteiger Microjet PRO machine)
-BASE GRINDING (Wintersteiger MICROJET PRO machine)
-BASE REPAIR / p-tex work / edge repair (Wintersteiger Basejet)
-BINDING CALIBRATION & DIN TESTING (Wintersteiger Safetronic)
-SKI+SNOWBOARD BINDING MOUNTING (Wintersteiger Safetronic)

We are looking for one experienced bike mechanic to help during the Covid bike rush and hopefully ongoing / full time!

Pay is dependent on performance but starts at $30/hr and can go up to $40/hr with exceptional performance and quality work.

Must have at minimum 4 years experience.

A drive for excellent, complex problem solving skills and excellent customer service/product knowledge are also all required skills.

C+S WILL RE-OPEN For "Zero Contact" Mobile Bike Service Tomorrow, 3/23

First off, I want to thank all of our loyal clients who reached out offering support and intent to have us continue servicing their bikes as soon as we resume operations.

After reviewing our policies as well as consulting with local government and medical experts we are glad to announce that C+S will continue operating in a limited form during this "shelter in place" order. Most bike shops and repair services have been found to be essential services for our community and have been encouraged to stay open.

Our first priority while operating is to reduce the likelihood of our staff and clients being exposed to Covid-19. To achieve this we will be operating our Mobile Bike Repair Service with new a new "ZERO CONTACT" policy. This policy will be explained in further detail with each scheduled service but essentially it will reduce the risk of transmission to zero and provide peace of mind to everyone involved.

While operating within the "shelter in place" order time frame (3/16 to 4/7) we will be prioritizing service for emergency, medical and critical infrastructure workers. Please reach out to us or book through our Online Booking Tool (https://www.civic.bike/booking-tool.html) if you are an EMS/critical infrastructure worker and need help with your bike, we will automatically update your appointment to your earliest prefered slot.

Each bike we service will go through a comprehensive checklist of disinfecting and cleaning before and after we work on the bike. This checklist will cause each service to take approximately 20 mins longer than the service by itself - we will be including this at no extra charge.

Thank you Streetsblog San Francisco : we feel like all bike repair services and bike shops provide an invaluable service to the community. Especially during frightening times like these where public transit is a last option due to risk

If able we will gladly return to operating our Mobile Bike Repair Service ASAP!

Until then we will be offering a limited repair service for emergency, medical and critical infrastructure workers - please get in touch with us if you need bicycle service

…and yes, it’s still okay to bike, albeit with social distancing in mind

Covid-19 Has Temporarily Closed C+S But It Won't Stop Cyclists!

We are sad to see that Covid-19 has forced San Francisco County (and most of the bay area) to implement "shelter in place" orders. This follows with the requirement to cease all activities within non esensial businesses and services.

Although the County of San Francisco has authorized the operation of delivery services and mobile service providers (such as our mobile bike repair service) we will be following the restrictions as if we were brick and mortar only.

This comes at a difficult time for us. We have invested deeply into our new physical location and further improvements to our mobile service. As much as it pains us to halt operations temporarily we value the health and prosperity of our staff and clients more.

As soon as we are able to operate without putting anyone at risk we will let you know. In the meantime please note that CYCLING IS NOT RESTRICTED if used as a form of exercise - get out on your bike and enjoy the outdoors, use it as an escape from our temporary reality while practicing social distancing and personal hygiene.

A quick update on C+S and our current operations:

We are moved into a temporary location (not accepting appointments at location) and have limited mobile service appointments available. We are focusing on finding a permanent location in order to provide the quality service and exceptional experience we strive for.

Best way to keep updated is to follow us on social media and/or sign up for our email list.

We thank everyone for the patience while we navigate the gauntlet that is San Francisco commercial property and hope to have good news soon! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or are looking to book a mobile service.

We are proud to be supporting Supermarket Street Sweep again this year!! We provided one Complete Overhaul WITH WEAR PARTS and FOUR 150 Ride Hour Tunes for their raffle!

We will also be there day of providing on course support and will have a tent at the Food Bank to provide mechanical support to anyone in need!
