This matters 👉 Recovery isn't just about having access to tools. It’s about having access to the right people. We've come to realize: many don't know that our licensed chiropractor, certified massage therapists, licensed esthetician, certified personal trainers, and SoftWave technicians are intensive, to hundreds and/or thousands of hours dedicated to anatomy, physiology, clinical application, supervised practice, and continuing education.

These professionals have invested YEARS learning how the body functions, adapts, compensates, and moves so they can support individuals with greater precision and care.

A tool is only as effective as the person applying it.

Give a musical instrument to someone with no training and they may struggle to play something pleasing. Give that same instrument to a professional musician and they can create something epic.
Give a scalpel to a random person, and they wouldn't have the confidence, precision, or skill as a surgeon.
Give a baseball to an unskilled person, and they won't be able to pitch as strategic as your favorite player.

Motivation is not something you magically wake up with every day. It ebbs, flows, disappears, returns, & changes based on what your nervous system is carrying.

Stress, work, sleep, relationships, family dynamics, roommates, emotional tension: daily life can ALL influence how motivated you feel before you ever step into the gym. ✔️

Consistency matters more than waiting to feel inspired. We'll say that again: consistency matters more, than waiting to feel inspired.

Through action--choosing your movement, your health, wellness--it can INSPIRE motivation. This is a recursive journey inward.

Motivation often becomes the result of consistency: not the starting point. CHOOSING to be surrounded by safe, supportive, like-minded environments, that energy starts to shape your internal state. Studies on emotional contagion show that emotions can spread through groups, which means the spaces we enter and the people around us can influence how we feel, how we move, and how we keep going.*

This may be one of the drawbacks of working out at home with no spotter, no guidance, and relying only on videos. It's missing the key element of optimal health: social connection*

“Most people don’t need a complete overhaul. They need a plan they can stick to and someone to keep them accountable.” That’s the philosophy Maximus brings into every training session at Live Fit Gym. His approach is rooted in helping people create real progress through consistency, structure, & compounding action—not crash-course motivation that fades after a few weeks.

Growing up in Pittsburg, California, sports shaped Maximus from an early age. Baseball was a major part of his identity, eventually leading him to walk onto the baseball team at San Francisco State University while earning his degree in Business Marketing. ⚾️ But when he stepped away from the sport, he experienced firsthand what it feels like to lose direction, structure, & connection to self.

That turning point ultimately led him toward fitness, personal training, and helping others rebuild confidence through movement, accountability, and sustainable habits.

Now, Maximus specializes in powerlifting, athletic performance, holistic health and wellness. Especially the mind-body connection. As a NASM Certified Personal Trainer AND Certified Nutrition Coach, he works with people from all backgrounds to create plans that realistically fit into their lives. 🌱

Your body speaks, even when you don’t. 🗣️ The work of Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, Dr. Gabor Maté, and Dr. Andrew Weil reminds us that stress, trauma, pressure, & emotional overload don’t just stay in the mind. They can show up as tension, tightness, fatigue, shallow breathing, chronic pain, and dysregulated nervous systems.

The body keeps score in ways many people don’t even realize.

Dr. John Sarno, known for his work on TMS (Tension Myositis Syndrome), believed emotional stress could manifest physically in the body. One of his biggest tools? Helping people safely express what was buried underneath. We see that same mind-body connection every day. Sometimes the body is asking for movement. Sometimes it’s asking for rest. Sometimes it’s asking to finally exhale.

Movement means something different for everyone. 🔃 For some, movement is about longevity. For others, it’s about discovering just how strong they can become in this lifetime. For some, it’s about mobility, healing, confidence, nervous system regulation, discipline, community: even reconnecting back to themselves after long periods of stress, burnout, or self-doubt.
