Vagabond Sportfishing Long-Range Sporfishing Boat out of Point Loma, California. Owner/Operator Mike Lackey The Vagabond is truly a comfortable long-range sportfishing vessel.

She is equipped with 10 staterooms sleeping 2 to 4 people each. Most cabins have individual sinks, air conditioning, 110v-volt AC outlets, storage shelves, and extra large bunks with bedding (see accommodations). The fresh water tank holds approximately 3,000 gallons of fresh water and a water maker is adding 400 gallons per day. Both heads are equipped with full-sized flush toilets and fresh hot

water showers. Our spacious galley serves great meals three times a day and snacks or fruit in between meals. Your favorite canned beer is available for purchase along with your favorite soda from our full-service fountain and fresh filtered water is always cold for you. Our padded benches on the observation deck are always a favorite spot to relax. You are definitely going first class on the Vagabond.

Got in yesterday from our 4th of July weekend 3-day trip. We had some fun kelp fishing for some YT and Dorado on the first day, then found some big ones(125-140 lbs. BFT) on the next day. Big fish honors go to Matthew Stoney. The boat is in for a day until our 4-day trip leaving Wednesday.

Trips 6A and 7:
Our first couple trips of the season are in the books! We had fun fishing on Bluefin tuna (20-200 lbs.) as well as some Yellowfin tuna (15-30 lbs.) and some kelp yellows sprinkled in between. The boat will be home for a few days before we leave on Friday.

Good news!

Sportfishing has been added to the list of approved activities for San Diego County!

We are targeting a June 17th return with a 1.5 day trip.

We will continue to put the finishing touches on the boat so that we are ready for a long season.

On Friday, we finished installing a UV air purifier for the boat’s A/C system that will eliminate bacteria, viruses, mold, allergens, and other indoor pollutants.

We have also lowered our load to 22 passengers on most trips. We have added some new trips so be sure to check our website for our updated schedule and open spots.

We can’t wait to get back on the water with you!
