team member, has one of my favorite swings on the planet. This swing hits all of our checkpoints and is as clean as it gets…connection and constant rotation free of any manipulation through impact! Gavin just finished his freshman year with a top five in the Big East Conference Championship. He has been playing great golf and is gearing up for an action-packed summer. Great ball strikers create lag in transition into the slot position(halfway down). Then they have the ability release the club and still have forward shaft lean at impact. This is dependent upon maintaining posture(spine angle) in transition and through impact(not early extending). If you early extend(stand up) on the way down, the structure of your trail arm will be compromised(straighten out) in order to make contact with the ball. Maintaining the proper structure of the trail arm creates lag and leads to the proper release while still creating forward shaft lean at impact. It’s important to know this is all made possible by staying in posture. To take it a step farther, having a perfect setup and a great backswing, helps eliminate the reasons a player would have to early extend.

After an incredible week of clinics in Connecticut, we practically stepped off the plane and right on to the lesson tee at our beautiful home, & to give 12 awesome people an incredible experience!

Our players’ experience was made even better as collected his third victory in his last three events, then immediately drove a couple hours to San Diego to join us! What a thrill it was to teach the Porzak Complete Golf Clinics side-by-side with my son Adam and adopted son Mike Pitt this past week at our east coast home. The Lake of Isles in North Stonington, CT at the Foxwoods Resort Casino is an incredible facility. Meeting and teaching golfers of all skill levels from all over North America is a treat. I am looking forward to future clinics there in the spring of 2025. Until then, I am excited about our monthly clinics at The Grand Del Mar. It’s not simply about building solid golf swings. Building relationships with our students is a big part of the experience!

I am so excited to be teaching clinics in Connecticut and here at The Grand Del Mar, alongside my son, Adam, and Mike Pitt. I’ve participated in many clinics over the years but none as good as those that Adam and Mike conduct. It’s a show like no other. They simplify the swing for all skill levels and make the clinic incredibly fun.

U.S. Open week at Pinehurst! Sitting in the very front is Horace Rawlins who won the first U.S. Open in 1895. Adding to the excitement of Pinehurst is the World Golf Hall of Fame relocating there and opening this week. Enjoy the week and an early Happy Father's Day come this Sunday. It was my Dad in 1963 that introduced me to the great game.

Looking forward next week to the North American Golf Tourism Convention in Northern Michigan. I will have an opportunity to play several of the top golf courses and resorts . Already have 40+ meetings with iconic golf tourism suppliers. In all, the convention will be attended by 200 suppliers throughout the world. My focus at this year's event will be Ireland, Portugal, Spain, South Carolina and, of course, learning about all of the wonderful travel experiences available in Boyne, Michigan and the surrounding area. Melissa and I will be looking forward to planning golf trips for interested individuals and groups in the future!

We are incredibly excited to be working with team member, .nishiba …We want to congratulate him for qualifying this Monday at one of San Diego’s gems, Rancho Sante Fe Golf Club, for the U.S. Amateur!

We started our work a couple weeks back and made huge strides in our first lesson. Krando worked hard to better connect his backswing by not straightening out his right knee and over-rotating his lower body in the takeaway. This allows Krando to use his body’s turn to move his arms and hands to the top of his swing, as opposed to making a full turn while his arms/hands are only halfway back. This leads to his arms/hands lifting to the top independently of his body’s turn.

Lastly, we helped Krando understand how to use his trail arm/elbow better throughout his swing. This kept his arms/hands in front of his body throughout his swing, allowing for his body’s rotation to square the face through impact.

One day after a successful 36 hole qualifier, Krando was right back on the lesson tee for a 7PM session…We love to grind, so his work ethic is much appreciated on our end. Here is a look at Krando’s go-to drill(the Set-Go Drill), that is allowing him to accomplish what we talked about above!

This video was taken of team member, at the Ely Callaway Performance Center in Carlsbad, CA earlier this week as he prepares for making a run at two of amateur golf’s major championships…The Western Amateur and The United States Amateur Championship 🇺🇸

Brian finished in the top 10 in stroke play and made it to the quarterfinals in both events last year. Anyone who is familiar with these events knows what a feat this is! We are looking forward to seeing Brian make a run at these two prestigious championships again this year.

The Western Am is being played at Exmoor Country Club in Highland Park, Illinois and the U.S. Am 🇺🇸 is being played at The Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey. These two events are truly golf at its purest and finest!

Those who follow us know we always set our players on the path to the least amount of manipulation throughout their swings. We thought this clip taken from an online lesson would hit home with many players who are in search of the ideal path through impact as a result of successfully getting in the slot position(The slot: pre-impact position that when correct allows for a clean strike with control of the ball flight)

Many players have to try and manipulate their hands or club coming down in an attempt to get into the slot position. If this is the case, you should be looking to better connect your backswing with the ideal hand path and swing plane connected to your body’s turn. There is a direction that the hands should travel relative to your body‘s turn known as the hand path. If connection is maintained and the hand path is correct to the top, it will result in the lead arm matching your shoulder plane. Our players do an awesome job of getting into this ideal top position. As a result, the angles in the downswing are preset and don’t have to be manipulated. Our players can simply rotate around their spine angle and lead leg without trying to force the hands or club into positions in a downswing that happens in only a split second.
