Hey, it’s been a while.
For the last few months, the SA80 and Crew have been busy and away from the dock. However, we haven’t been fishing, and even though we weren’t fishing, fish still came over the rails. Since January, we have been privileged to work with San Diego Floating Lab. We took students of all ages (K-12 and College) from California, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah, on field trips in and just outside of San Diego Bay. For some of these students, it was their first time on a boat. Onboard, the students learned about boat safety, and participated in hands-on and interactive activities and labs that centered around marine biology and oceanography. Additionally, it gave the crew the opportunity to stay active during the off-season, while learning and seeing new things and doing something rewarding.
Last week, we ran our last field trip for the year. We had a lot of fun, but for now we are putting away the microscopes and nets, and pulling out the rods and gaffs. To say we are ready to get out there and fish is an absolute understatement!
Our open party schedule is available online, and our first trip leaves 6/7/2024. We hope to see you out with us this year! 🤙
