This Memorial Day, we hold space for gratitude and remembrance.

At Aikido of San Diego, we believe the dojo teaches us more than technique: it teaches us about dedication, sacrifice, and showing up for one another. Those are the same values that define the men and women we honor today: people who gave their lives in service to others.

To all the families carrying that loss: we see you, and we honor your loved ones alongside you.

Take a moment today to remember. And if you're training this week, bring that spirit of gratitude onto the mat with you.

We received heartbreaking news today: Bernice Tom Shihan passed away this morning, May 16, 2026.
Her legacy lives on in everyone she touched and at our dojo especially through Dave Goldberg Sensei, whose path was shaped by her guidance and spirit.
We will honor her memory on the mat this Saturday, training with gratitude for everything she gave to this art and to us.

Our support goes to the Sunset Cliffs Aikido Community.

Rest in peace, Sensei. Thank you for everything. 🙏

It is with profound regret that we inform you that Bernice Tom Shihan passed away Saturday morning, May 16, 2026.

Sensei has been an inspiration to us all. We will miss her deeply.

☀️ Summer Camps Are Back at Aikido of San Diego! 🥋

We’re excited to offer both Kids Summer Camp and Teens Summer Camp this year — a great opportunity for young people to stay active, build confidence, and experience the energy of the dojo.

Participants will enjoy a dynamic mix of:
• Aikido fundamentals
• Movement and mobility training
• Partner drills and teamwork
• Awareness and confidence-building exercises
• Games and creative movement challenges

Our camps are designed to be engaging, supportive, and fun, while helping kids and teens develop coordination, focus, and resilience.
