Don’t let someone’s story of you shape your reality.
So many times people I talk to say to me things like, “My husband thinks my business is a pipe dream that will never happen.” 😳
Or
“You’re in over your head when it comes to business.”
Or
“How can you spend so much time away from your family, aren’t you being selfish?”

Sometimes words sting. You know what stings more. Believing the s**t that other say and adopting it as your belief.

Stay true to you.
Listen without judgement.
Speak without malice.
Know in your heart that you got this!

When life happens, it sometimes happens with velocity. Many times those “set backs” are actually “set ups”.
We don’t always know why it’s happening. Are you willing to trust that it’s all@part of a bigger plan for you? It’s happening for you to build your resiliency muscle.

In the moment it may feel painful.
It may feel frustrating.
It may even feel like panic is setting in.

Trust that those feelings will pass and they are there to help you release.

Release fear.
Release expectations.
Release self doubt.

"Coach, having worked with more than a few British coaches over the last couple of years, I’ve been exposed to some pretty interesting slang phrases.

But the one that sticks in my mind the most is “bottle it”

As in, “I bottled it” or “I lost my bottle”.

It means to lose your nerve or courage.

To feel so nervous or scared of a situation that you lose the ability to think straight and your skills desert you at the crucial moment..

Quick history lesson: In 19th century cockney rhyming slang, ""bottle"" means ""arse"" (bottle and glass). Originally, you would ""lose your bottle"" - i.e. be so scared as to lose control of your bowel function. Gross. This has been shortened down to just ""bottle it"".

I’ve bottled it more than a few times in my coaching career.

So will you.

It’s all part of the process of becoming a High-Performing Coach.

That time you drastically undercharged because you were so scared your client would say “No”, even though you knew you were worth double what you were quoting?

Bottled it.

How about that time you connected with someone who was perfect for your program, but self-doubt crept in and instead of asking if they’d be willing to hop on a call, you said nothing, losing a potentially great client in the process?

Bottled it.

We’ve all been there before and will be again.

Courage is not something you can bottle.
You can’t conjure it as soon as you feel your Fight or Flight instinct kick in and suddenly have nerves of steel and ice in your veins.

The mind doesn’t work like that.

True courage is about breaking through and taking action despite the butterflies in your stomach and lump in your throat.

Courage is a muscle we get to strengthen every single day in our coaching business.

The stronger you get, the more clients you’ll attract and the bigger the breakthroughs you deliver will be.

Or maybe it’s just Facebook’s algorithm doing that? *shrugs*

Either way, this appeared in my newsfeed the other day and it made me think of the type of qualities that make up a coach and why I feel so at home in this industry.

"What 200 coaches taught me last Friday (FB Live starts in 1 hour!)

Coach, I’m absolutely buzzing after last Friday’s One-Day Intensive Online Workshop and the eye-opening trends I spotted.

We had almost 200 passionate, empowered coaches in the room looking for answers on how to build bigger lives for their clients as well as themselves.

I spoke to A LOT of coaches.

Wanna know the thing that stuck out the most?

Nearly all of them were struggling with one, if not all 3, of the same problems.

The first problem meant they struggled to connect with the people who needed their help the most, which meant they were a mystery to their deepest and most likely source of clients.

The second problem kept them stuck trading their time for pennies (and required a little reprogramming of their sense of self-worth and their false beliefs around that).

While the third problem was keeping a large proportion of coaches in the room stuck in the feast-or-famine cycle of attracting clients.

That’s the bad news outta the way.

Want the good news?

Ryan, me and the rest of the team were ready and able to solve these problems and give these coaches breakthroughs.

The result?

The coaches who showed up to last Friday’s intensive are out in the field today, putting their solutions and new strategies into action and turning their businesses around.
