This birthday weekend gave me so much more than a celebration.
It gave me perspective.
As I looked around the room, I realized I wasn’t just surrounded by family and friends, I was surrounded by every season of my life.
My parents, still showing me what enduring love looks like after more than 60 years of marriage. John, my partner of 36 years, with whom I’ve built a beautiful life. My daughters, carrying forward stories across generations. Friends from every chapter—college, raising our girls, ministry, and this newest season at the gym. And my grandson, reminding me that slowing down and being fully present may be one of the greatest gifts we can give each other.
The older I get, the less I measure my life by what I’ve accomplished and the more I measure it by the people who have walked beside me.
Thank you to everyone who celebrated with me, sent a message, shared a memory, or simply held me in your thoughts. I’m still making my way through all the birthday wishes, and each one has reminded me how deeply grateful I am for this life we’ve woven together.
🎧 This week’s episode of A Season of Me, A Life Woven Together, is a reflection on legacy, gratitude, and the beautiful truth that none of us become who we are alone.
What season of your life are you most grateful for today? 💜
