We have to say it: lifting weights will NOT make you bulky. π¨
We hear this fear constantly β especially from women β and we need to set the record straight once and for all.
Here's the reality: the physiques you see on stage at bodybuilding competitions? Those athletes spend YEARS β sometimes a decade or more β of structured, intentional hypertrophy training, aggressive caloric surpluses, and in many cases, pharmaceutical support to achieve that level of muscle mass.
You will not accidentally look like that by doing 3 days a week of strength training.
What lifting WILL do:
β
Increase your resting metabolic rate
β
Give you that "toned" look (which is literally just muscle showing through lower body fat)
β
Improve bone density β critical for long-term health
β
Make you stronger, more capable, and more confident
β
Help you maintain your physique as you age
"Toned" and "bulky" are not opposites β they're the same adaptation at different levels. And getting to "bulky" takes years of deliberate effort, not a few months of workouts at your San Diego gym.
At Fit Societe, we coach you based on YOUR goals. Strength training is for everyone.
Drop this in someone's comments who needs to hear it. π
