The return of softball to Lemon Grove Little League in 2022 has been something truly special to watch.

What started with bringing softball back to our league has grown into a program that is giving more girls the opportunity to play, compete, build confidence, develop their skills, and represent Lemon Grove beyond our local fields.

Little League International describes softball as a sport that strengthens self-esteem, promotes teamwork and sportsmanship, and develops the fundamentals that help young athletes grow. Their continued investment in softball and the Girls with Game initiative has helped softball participation grow across Little League, creating more opportunities for girls to compete and see themselves as part of the game.

We are incredibly proud of how far Lemon Grove softball has come.

Since bringing softball back in 2022, eight Lemon Grove softball teams have proudly traveled to the Southern California State Tournaments:

2024 – Softball 9–11 Division
2024 – Softball Little League Division

2025 – Softball 9–11 Division
2025 – Softball Little League Division

2026 – Softball 8–10 Division
2026 – Softball 9–11 Division
2026 – Softball Little League Division
2026 – Softball Junior Division

And this season, Lemon Grove had four Softball All Star teams, a tremendous increase from where our softball program was just a few years ago.

This is more than a list of tournament appearances. It represents the growth of a program, the commitment of our players and coaches, and the support of the families and volunteers who continue to believe in giving our girls a place to play.

To our 2026 Lemon Grove Softball All Stars: congratulations. You represented Lemon Grove with pride, determination, and heart. We are so proud of every player who stepped onto the field this season and helped continue writing the story of Lemon Grove softball.

And to every player who has worn a Lemon Grove softball jersey since 2022: you are part of this story.

You helped bring softball back. You helped it grow. And you are helping create a pathway for the girls who will come after you.

The future of Lemon Grove softball is bright, and we cannot wait to see where it goes next.

We are saddened to share that Lemon Grove Little League will not be offering a Fall Ball season this year.
This decision was not made lightly. Our league depends entirely on dedicated volunteers, and unfortunately we do not have the number of committed volunteers needed to safely and successfully operate a fall season.
We know this news is disappointing, and we’re truly sorry to all of our players and families who were looking forward to another season on the field.
The good news is that Spring Season will be here before we know it, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back!
If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved, now is the perfect time. We are always looking for passionate volunteers to help keep Lemon Grove Little League strong. Our Board of Directors meets every other Monday, and we’d love to have you join us. Whether you have a little time or a lot, your support can make a lasting difference for our players and community.

We are incredibly proud of this team for the heart, effort, and determination they showed every time they took the field. They represented Lemon Grove with pride, supported one another through every challenge, and created memories that will last a lifetime.

While these games are exciting and competitive, please remember that we all have a responsibility to uphold our league’s Code of Conduct. Our officials are human, and our players are children who are here to learn, grow, and enjoy the game.
Let’s set a positive example by showing respect, demonstrating good sportsmanship, and supporting all players, coaches, and officials. Together, we can create an environment that reflects the values we want to teach our children.
