“Doing nothing” is often a whole lot of ✨something✨ when it comes to trauma healing ❤️🩹
One of the biggest surprises for many of my clients is learning that healing isn’t just what happens during the breakthrough, the boundary conversation, the hard decision, or the therapy session.
Healing happens in the spaces in between 🙌🏼
The pause
The walk
The ten minutes sitting in your car
The 15 minutes in between appointments where you’re not consuming, producing, fixing, planning, or performing
For many of us, our nervous systems spent YEARS running on urgency, hypervigilance, over-functioning, and adrenaline until eventually crashing into exhaustion, shutdown, or burnout.
So when life finally becomes a little safer, your body often begins processing what it had to postpone in order to survive.
This is why one of the FIRST practices I teach my clients is to create buffer time.
your body needs time to integrate
Even five minutes between meetings.
A slow cup of coffee or tea before opening your laptop.
Sitting in silence before walking into the next thing.
Your nervous system was never designed to be a machine.
It was designed to pulse between…
Activation 🔁 Rest
Effort 🔁 Recovery
Engagement 🔁 Integration
If you’re in a season where it feels like “nothing” is happening, don’t be so quick to assume you’re falling behind.
Your body may finally be doing some of the most important work shes ever done ❤️🔥
Let’s make a promise…
No more doing at the expense of our being
No more treating rest like something we have to earn
No more calling collapse “finally relaxing”
Because without the BEING, there will be no more doing
If you’re with me, comment below: Promise ❤️🔥
