A well-deserved honor for my professor and mentor, Master Paulo Fernando Augusto, who received the Medal of Sporting Merit and was invited to serve on this year’s promotion board.

The award was presented by Grand Master Octavio de Almeida Júnior, a highly respected red belt and president of the Federação Paulista de Jiu-Jitsu, making this recognition even more significant.

Also pictured beside Master Paulo is his longtime friend and childhood training partner, Henrique Guimarães—a three-time Olympian, 1996 Olympic bronze medalist, and president of the Federação Paulista de Judô.
