If your goal is to stay on track while on vacation, it’s important have a plan and not just wing it.
Schedule your workouts in advance. Let those your travelling with know your training schedule. You never know, they may want to join you and if not that’s ok too.
Here are TEN things I’ve done consistently over the last 15 years to keep up my health and fitness routine while travelling.
1. Make sure that where we are staying either has a gym,
or a gym near by.
2. Pack my workout clothes & running shoes
3. Pack my supplements
4. If we’re driving and have the space, I usually bring my weighted vest, ankle weights even a set of dumbbells and my Fit Boots.
5. Look up and plan hikes to do.
6. If we’re flying, space and weight are limited in the suitcase, I’ll bring my resistance bands.
7. Pack healthy snacks. Once again this depends on whether you’re travelling by car or airplane.
8. I always wear my Apple Watch, which tracks my workouts and steps. So I also make sure to remember the charger as well!
9. We always stop at grocery stores to pick up yogurt, fruit, veggies, salads etc, so we always bring an insulated cooler bag to keep everything fresh and chilled.
10. We make sure where we’re staying has a fridge and microwave. To keep our groceries and snacks chilled, as well as to heat up any meal prep.
