SDFHLers,
Please see the message below from Nick Augusto, and help his cause, if you can...
My name is Nick Augusto, I run the Rink Source outdoor inline hockey rink database. I started the Rink Source in the Summer of 2008 as a pet project, I still run the site as a labor of my love for the game of street hockey/inline hockey. The purpose of the Rink Source is to provide people with a map/list of every outdoor rink in the US (and if there is a league at the rink) so if someone is new to an area they can find a place to play outdoor street hockey/inline hockey. I did my best to search the internet to find as many rinks and leagues as possible before I launched the site and in the time since the site went live the feedback has been great and people have sent in even more rinks that I didn't find originally.
This is where you all come in:
Our page has 200 "likes/followers" and our twitter page has 140 followers which represents a very small portion of the thousands of inline hockey players/family members on Facebook and Twitter. The more rinks and more leagues on the map, the more helpful a resource the Rink Source is for the greater hockey community. With all of that said... Can you please share a link to the Rink Source page with the members of your league with a small description of why you're sharing it? Eg. "Please take some time to like this FB page, it is a database of all of the outdoor inline/street hockey rinks in the US. Take a look at the interactive Map and if there is a rink you know of that's not on the map already, post it on their page" I am confident that your league's members have come across a rink we don't have on the site yet and it'd be great to add them to the site. Also: Can you please go to our website and go to your state and review your league's information? A lot of this information was populated several years ago and links may have changed so I want to make sure we are pointing people to the correct information for your league. If something needs to change email me the changes and I'll update your league's post on our website.
I want to make myself 1000% clear I do not make money from the Rink Source, there are no advertisements, I run the site in my free time. I do not post an obnoxious amount of content, I retweet information about hockey tournaments and share street hockey related news when it comes across my feed.
The Rink Source is a database of OUTDOOR ROLLER HOCKEY RINKS.
