Breathe in 💙 Breathe out. Being in the present- but what does that actually mean? To me it means to fully embrace what I’m experiencing. HERE & NOW
No distractions, no worries about the future and no reminiscing about something in the past. It sounds so simple but soooo often I drift off with my thoughts. But really focusing on the present moment gives me a sense of peace. Especially with the fast pace of daily life. 💙

I often get asked „What is coaching actually about?“

The official definition is: Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

🔸How does this look like?

I always tell my clients to look at it as a journey. A journey of understanding yourself, reflecting and exploring together.

And these are the key factors:

◽️Accountability : You are not alone in this. We probably all have experienced this before. We start something or work towards a goal and along the way doubt kicks in, we loose motivation or keep bringing up excuses to delay it all. A coach motivates you, supports you and checks in on you throughout the process. This way you don’t get off the track and keep the focus on your goals.

◽️Empowerment: During the process you embrace your true thoughts and gain confidence. You start believing in yourself and your inner power.

◽️Transformation: Change can only happen if you understand what needs to be different. In the Coaching process we explore what is holding you back, what are the barriers in the way. Understanding what you want from your life and what is meaningful to you.

◽️Personal Growth: This is what it all comes down to. You invest in yourself: In your goals, your potential , your journey!

I would like to share my experience with setting boundaries with you.

I used to often say yes to others because I felt like I would let them down otherwise. This often led to feeling overwhelmed and having a pressure to please everyone around me.
I often regretted investing so much time and energy on things...Especially for people who expected the maximum effort and they didn’t even offer a minimum of support. Does this sound familiar to you?

I realized this wasn’t serving me and I wanted to change. I asked myself:
What do I want to spend my energy on? What environment do I want to surround myself with?

These questions helped me understand what matters to me and showed me how I can align them with my values. This way I learned to say No to things I don’t feel like doing or for any other reasons don’t want to commit to.

I realized it’s in my own control to set my own boundaries and I don’t need to justify them to others.

I can only encourage you to check in on yourself and set your boundaries.

1. Explore your reasons for saying no to things. Think about what boundaries you have. This makes it easier for you to have an understanding of what needs to be met.

2. Sometimes when you say no it means you are saying yes to yourself. You should be your priority. Often we say yes to things we don’t really want to do but we feel some kind of responsibility or pressure to do so. But instead of trying to please others you should say yes to your values and your boundaries.

3. Listening to your inner voice is the best way to practice self awareness. Listen to your opinions, your intuition. What do you really want or need and to what things are you just saying yes because you want to please others?

4. This is something you can practice! Write down ways that you would like to express your no’s and get used to using them. This way you will feel more confident next time a situation like this comes up.

5. You are not responsible for how others feel. And you don’t need to justify yourself to others. You can be firm without being rude. For example by saying:
Thank you I appreciate it, but this doesn’t work for me.

6. Often when we say no a feeling of guilt kicks in. We might even start overthinking it. Stop yourself there. It is absolutely ok to say no and it doesn’t make you a bad person. By looking back every time you say no, you only make it more difficult for yourself. Focus on how good you feel for maintaining your boundaries.

7 . If you are in a situation where you are not sure if you want to say yes or no that’s also fine. Take some more time to think about it.
You can just communicate for example: „Let me think about it.“
This gives you more space without jumping into a direct yes and you might regret it afterwards.
