It has yet to surprise anyone that my transition out of Human Resources led me to coach. If you know me, you know that I've always been the defacto "camp counselor," and coaching allows me to lean into a role that has always been the most natural fit.
When my job became a COVID casualty, I took the opportunity to recover from debilitating burnout and began questioning my career choices. I quickly realized that I was not alone. Like so many others, I was driven to pursue something meaningful, and I was ready to trade security for an opportunity to make a real difference.
I found myself helping colleagues navigate the post-pandemic work landscape, and I quickly identified the gap in resources available to people trying to navigate the work world: a world where I had spent 15 years behind the curtain.
Job-searching, difficult bosses, developing good work habits & building confidence, or dealing with job performance are all everyday, real-life sticky situations for which most people have no reliable support. Never mind that asking for help can feel embarrassing.
Working persons deserve help. For my entire career, people have sought me out for this support, and often my hands were tied by the business objectives I was responsible for upholding. It is endlessly fulfilling for me to finally be allowed to prioritize outcomes for the person sitting in front of me.
