Martial Arts for the Real World
Your training will consist of a mix of different martial arts styles. The mixture helps ensure that you learn a more complete self-defense game. A majority of your training will come from Kali, but you will see the biggest variety of arts in the unarmed disciplines. Training that is specialized for you! Everyone has different life experience and backgrounds. No one
wants to spend weeks and weeks being lectured about something they already know. This is a very common occurrence in other systems. In Strider Self Defense, that wasted time is eliminated. Before you start training with Strider Self Defense, you’ll get a personalized consultation with G**o Sean to assess your background, knowledge, and preferences so that your training can be tailored to you. At the end of every training session, you will collectively reflect on what was learned and any insights you gained from that day’s session. All this information will be kept on file to chart your progress and shape the direction of your self-defense journey. Strider Self Defense is a no-belt system. Unfortunately, it can be too common an occurrence to find unskilled black belts in the martial arts world. Whether through ignorance or pressure to keep the lights on, some students have received belts not for their acquired skill at that level, but for simply putting in the time and money. Strider Self Defense eliminates those occurrences by doing away with that system altogether. We will develop your skill together naturally. All Disciplines Included! You will be able to train every discipline at no additional cost. Before your training starts, you will choose a discipline that you are interested in learning as your main focus. You will be exposed to the other disciplines as your training progresses. Your chosen discipline is free to change at any time with input from your instructor. If you are unsure on where to start, you can defer to your instructor. WEAPONS PROGRAM
You find yourself alone in a parking garage when you hear footsteps approaching you from behind, too hurried and too loud to be normal. You turn to find yourself face-to-face with an attacker armed with some sort of blunt object. Your hand reflexively goes to the folding knife in your pocket and you spy a potential weapon in a piece of wood laying near the stairs. The attacker raises a lead pipe overhead and you get to work.
