Rhinos Rugby Collaborates with USA Men’s 7s Team for Training in Chula Vista
Chula Vista, California – On January 11, 2025, Rhinos Rugby team traveled to Chula Vista to assist in the preparation of the USA Men’s National Sevens Team with a situational training and hit out.
The Rhinos Rugby squad featured high-performance players while collaborating to showcase some of the best Southern California college players:
UCLA (Dayen Joyce .j10 & Josh Cox )
USD (Caleb Tomasin & Josh Butler .purposedrivenlife )
Loyola Marymount University (Brad Aryeh )
Rhinos continues its collaboration with Belmont Shore as well, featuring Tyler Sisley and Esteban Tupuola, while Benji Biutu .biutu returns from the Rugby Tens Championship event.
Todd Clever, General Manager of San Clemente Rhinos and Rhinos Rugby, stated, “Our main goal in coming down was to help prepare the USA 7s national team for their upcoming tournament. We aimed to support set piece, show a different defensive structure, and attack strategies. I’m proud to have brought on some of the top collegiate rugby players in Southern California to join the Rhinos. My goal is to provide opportunities for athletes to be seen and to serve as a springboard for their next rugby journey. It was great to showcase American talent in front of new USA coach Simon Amor.”
Clever added, “ Overall, I think the hit out was fantastic. It’s great to continue our collaboration with USA 7s. With our High-Performance resources and global presence, we are proud to support all USA national teams for years to come.”
