First off - congratulations to Nelly Korda. What an incredible win this weekend at the U.S. Open.

Second off - lip ins are NOT LUCK! They are a function of good speed. This ball was always going to lip in if it hit any part of the hole.

The best players in the world use the entire width of the hole on purpose by having good speed. It’s simply a wider target.

Stop wasting your time staring at the first part of the putt! The last few feet are responsible for most of the break.

The most important part of a putt is the last few feet. The ball breaks the most then.

Speed control is the single most important skill in putting. You can be a decent putter just off the back of good speed alone.

A putt is going to break the most when it has the least amount of speed.

In my opinion, amateurs golfers can make sufficient reads just by looking at the last few feet for most putts.
