San Antonio Eastside Boys & Girls Club Boxing Team

San Antonio Eastside Boys & Girls Club Boxing Team MAKING CHAMPIONS ONE PUNCH AT A TIME San Antonio's Eastside Boy's and Girl's Club Boxing is a diverse team that was built around facing unique challenges.

Whatever the challenge... this group is up for the fight. Head Coach Jeffery Mays is a Combat Veteran, a retired Army Master Sergeant. Coach Mays boxed as an amateur for the US Army Boxing Team before coaching a successful West Point Boxing Team. He chose to retire in San Antonio Texas and took up a volunteer coaching position in 2013, revitalizing a nearly non existent boxing program on the city'

s troubled east side. The Eastside Boy's and Girls Club Boxing Team is now flourishing. Coach Mays also serves on several USA Boxing committee's and is occasionally called to coach Team USA. Coach Torrence Daniels is also a Veteran who boxed for the US Army Boxing Team. He had an impressive amateur career with over 300 fights before becoming a professional fighter in 2004. He retired from pro boxing in 2009. He coached the US Army Boxing Team and the Fort Carson Army Post Team. In 2009 Coach Daniels was in charge of recruiting sparring partners for the training camp of the returning Floyd Mayweather Jr. against Juan Marquez. In 2010 he started working as a Law Enforcement Officer for the Department of Defense and is currently at Fort Sam in San Antonio. Coach Daniels became a volunteer coach at Eastside Boy's and Girls Club in 2016.
