My brother Frankie and I started Boxing when we were real young. Traveling around New York City, we fought all over the place. Sometimes in churches, sometimes in parks,VA hospitals anywhere someone would put up a ring and match a few bouts. Size weight and experience wasn't all that important; times were different. Being part of something bigger than the streets was. Learn as you go,everything was marked up to experience. You got better or you got out... I can remember that we were to young for the Golden Gloves, that was the Holy Grail. We both fought and won the NYC PAL tournament a couple times, we fought here and there. When we finally got old enough for the Golden Gloves , I can't tell you what an honor and a privilege it was to take part in something so big and historical...God is Good ! Today it is still an honor and a privilege to be part of this great tournament and tradition ...Long Live the GOLDEN GLOVES !!!
